What the Heck are You Eating for T-giving? My hubby and I are excited bc we get to spend it ALONE, ahhhhh peace! We usually have some snow birds visiting us bc we live in Phoenix, but not this year. So, this is what we're chowing down: asparagus/smoked salmon bundles (appy) mushroom bisque mashed potatoes w/ roasted garlic lobster tail chocolate souffle And for football time - chips w/ my homemade guacamole. I'm drooling.... What are YOU eatin'!!!??? |

Well since I am going to my son's house, I'm not sure but I know he is frying a turkey and I am taking an angel food cake, a scrumpious chocolate layer dessert, a jello salad and a fruit salad. |

I thought we were home alone until last evening. We gave in and called to invite the MIL. Pregnant/youngest daughter and 3yo son are coming in on Saturday for a few days because her hubby is going hunting. DIL, 3mo and 4yo are coming in on Sunday because my son is coming in from Iraq next Thursday. MIL will go home on Sunday. Single daughter and oldest daughter with hubby and 4 g-kids will probably be in and out most of the weekend since they live closer. Cooking will probably be nonstop! I'm tired from just typing about it! Honestly, I'm so excited and glad to have them home, even if it's just to visit. HAPPY TURKEY DAY TO YOU ALL |

Well we are having a mixture of a Puerto Rican and American Thanksgiving. As we are Puerto Ricans. Appetizer: Chips and salsa Dinner: Pavochon (Turkey made with a special seasoning they use in Puerto Rico) Arroz con Gandules (Rice with a tradicional bean of Puerto Rico) Mofongo Stuffing (instead of the regualr stuffing I'm using mofongo which is smashed fried green plantain) Homemade Mashed potatoes Green bean Casserole bread rolls Desert: Cheesecake Happy Thanksgiving to all!!!:) Oh yeah almost forgot I'm making Piña Coladas |

Cranberry Pumpkin Pies Apple pie cookies/ cupcakes Punchbowl cake Fresh Lemon/Lime drink Tea and pop Just got the punch bowl cake done pictures below. Usualy its layerd nicer, But I had the Grandbaby's today and got a bit tired. lol YOu will need a punchbowl If anyone wants to try the Punchbowl cake recipe below. you can bake a plain Yellow cake/ Or use twinkies to make it easyer.lol 1 box of vanilla instant pudding (Make your Pudding up and have it ready.) 1 Bag of walnuts 1 bag of coca nut. you only will need half of the bag. 1 can of pineapple 1 can of those small oranges 1 can of cherry pie filling 1 cool whip and a small jar of cherrys Start layering each item in the punch bowl, Then repeat again until you get to the top. then decorate with cherrys, walnuts, whopcream. This is so Yummy. |
EVERYTHING YOU CAN THINK OF!!!!!;) no joke-we have 3 PLACES we have to go tomorrow!!:eek: good thing we are used to it by now..since its been like this for about 6 years now. goodness!! haha. but honestly there will be soooo much food-the usual turkey, gravy, stuffing, potatoes, rolls, etc. at all the places and each house we go to has their own little extra/'different' things also.. we even have some homeade beans with the usualy stuff at one place(on my dads side..mexican, can u tell-beans on thanksgiving!!hehe.:p..but i have to admit they are soooo yummy!!;)) My grandma(dads mom)who passed away a few years back..always made this green jello stuff(its soooo yummy..sounds wierd but i LOVE it-it has cream cheese,and some other stuff in it!!..YUM).. my aunt still makes it,using her recipe cuz she knows how much i love it-and she's been making it for years anyways. ;):) my sis in law makes homemade pies,which are super yummy and she makes an amazing salad with homemade dressing, which is serisously SO good!! and then at my moms house, her side of the family are down from up north and some friends come over too-we end our afternoon(until late night) there and eat some more and more!! hehe. my grandma makes yummy homemade gravy..my mom makes a really good green bean casserole(i dont even like green beans-haha.which tells you how good it is..:p) and the day following my grandma will make her turkey soup which is seriously THE BEST EVER!! Oh and you cant forget my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE PUMPKIN PIE!!!!!!!!:D:D (and the yummy left overs too!!!) HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!!! xoxo. |
