omg.. shes sooo cute! I wish people people buying pets could be screened and DENIED like care credit did to them! These people shouldn't have a pet at all! Poor little girl... I hope she finds a forever home thats more concerned about her health and well being than their wallets! Thats what happens when you take on a pet!

she is still at the hospital. When i left she was in surgery.

she came in on emergency so she must have broke it over night or after their vet's hours. They could have taken her from us tho and brought her to the regular vet in the morning. they just didn't want to be bothered. The wife told the receptionist last night that her husband never liked the dog :(

Also I wanted to add..and Im not trying to start anything..but what happens if someone cant afford even an amputation?? I had a good chunk of money saved away for emergencies but since I have been out of work I have used that money for food and bills and necessities..if something were to happen to one of my precious babies I dont know how I would pay for a surgery?? My family couldnt help me..and I dont have credit..so what would a vet do in that situation I wonder?? I would hope my vet would let me set up a payment plan but if he didnt just what would I do?? I dont even want to think about that but everyone falls on hard times and I guess it has to be asked..

It just depends on the vet. Some will work with you and some won't. I've heard of some vets doing charity cases sometimes, but it sometimes means surrendering the animal to them. A vet I talked to recently said she's done that a couple times. An animal came in whose family couldn't afford what it needed so they had the option of signing over the animal to them. Then the pet was treated an adopted out

Just curious..what if a situation happens like that with humans? What if someone has no insurance and needs medical care? But they can't afford it?

some vets will work with you, and others won't. my hospital does not offer payment plans through us. You need to apply for care credit or get money from somewhere. we won't do surgery without a deposit. if you can't afford it and can't get care credit we go through all other options with you. If nothing will work and someone who works at the hospital wants to help, the owner can surrender the dog over to the hospital and we'll take care of it. That is only IF an employee wants to take full responsibility for the animal being surrendered. The hospital can not take on any animals.

Regular vets are more likely to be able to give the option of payment plans especially if you are a long time client. emergency hospitals usually don't, nor will they give services without a deposit because we would get a lot of abandoned animals.

I just saw this thread! What a little cutie!!! I'm glad she's getting the surgery she needs. You are an Angel!

I remember the last little one you fostered under similar circumstances. I look at it this way, had she stayed with her family, it would be my guess she would not have a good quality life. Eventually hurt again, killed, taken to the pound or some other horrible thing.

She was brought to your hospital for a reason. She is sure to be loved and cherished for the rest of her life. Hopefully with YorkieMalt!

So what's her name and how old is she? She looks like a puppy.

her name is Trinity and she's 11 months old. I don't know where the original owners got her from but the husband didn't like her from the get go and i found out last night that HE broke her. i personally don't think it was an accident. So Trinity is out of their house and looking for a new one. We have a couple lined up so this little girl will have a great new home soon. she might be at my house for a little bit even to get her on teh road to recovery.

I am just now seeing this. It is Really sad about her last home. Wish I could show Him how it feels to Break a bone!.
I have a few words I would love to call him but I refrane.

I am so happy that you can help her out as you did.

I just can't believe people!! I have to stop myself from kissing on Parker, how could you feel or treat an animal that way. Bless your heart for doing what you did, if I was in that position I would have done the same thing. :)

:mad: :( Oh the words that come to mind for me to describe this sort of people!!!! That is soo heartbreaking, how can anyone look into those beautiful little eyes and just say put her to sleep??????? GEEEZ!! I am so happy you are a kind and loving human being, it is wonderful that she will have a new home and be on the mend. Thank you for caring :thumbup: :thumbup:

Trinity has gone home with one of the surgeons. So far so good. His little girls adore her. Hopefully she'll fit right in there and have a great home.

Vet brought her in yesterday for a bandage change. She's doing well. Too well, that is. the vet put her carrier in the cage with her and she was standing on top of it... :rolleyes: that's a no no so we had to take it out. Then she proceeded to dump her food out and try to eat the disposable bowl. i told her if she keeps it up we're gonna be openning up her abdomen next to remove a foreign body LOL

Most vets are better than human doctors. When Lida got sick and had to have surgery the vet gave me a break on the price and a payment plan I could handle, I had been in the hospital earlier in the year with my heart and wasn't working at the time. I had no insurance, my med bills were over $65,000.00 for my heart surgery. They fixed my heart only because they had to, it had bothered me for awhile, but without insurance they wouldn't do a thing until it bacame life threatening. The worst thing was, because it was bad I couldn't get insurance, I had to stay sick until I almost died. Now, I will be in debt for the rest of my life trying to pay it back.
