A MAN in southern India has married a dog in an attempt to lift what he believes is a curse.

P. Selvakumar wed Selvi, a female stray dog, in a traditional Hindu ceremony as atonement for stoning two other dogs to death, the Hindustan Times newspaper reported.

The groom said he has suffered bad luck since he killed the dogs and hung their bodies from a tree 15 years ago.

"After that my legs and hands got paralyzed and I lost hearing in one ear," he said.

An astrologer reportedly told P. Selvakumar that the wedding was the only way to lift the curse.

The newspaper said the groom and his family enjoyed a feast, while the dog got a bun.

I read that on Perez, that's good that he got paralyzed, deaf for stoning poor dogs and then hanging them! What a bad man!

Ugh. Sounds like that guy got what he deserved for doing that to those poor babies.

And why did the dog only get a freakin' bun, while he had a feast?
