Thank you Nikki for starting this particular thread. You covered many an area that many of us " newbies" are either uncomfortable with, or just plain afraid to ask. It's so comforting to know that ya'll had the same feelings as we are experiencing now and that just makes me feel so much better. It's sometimes a bit scarey when you join a new group and you are not always sure if you will be a good fit, but I know that YT is a good fit for ME and I am grateful that you all here and ya'll make my day a bit brighter. Thank you ......:) </IMG> By the way, I have an old computer that has a mind of it's own and there have been so many threads that I would like to comment on, but then this decrepit thing just shuts down on me. I can't wait to get a new one and then I will definitely never get any work done around here. LOL |

Probably the best thing for the other parts of your life is your decripit computer. Once you get your new one and your time here is more efficient and thus even more addicting, the words "dusting"and "vaccuming" will suddenly have no meaning to you. ;) |
Prob. all of us at one point have felt ignored on our threads but i don't take any of that stuff personal. It's a forum, some ppl respond, some don't. |

Oh, I turned off email notification EONS ago...it's not like I can't check back and find out who has responded to what:) Good thread...we all need to be careful not to get our noses out of joint when we're feeling ignored...it just happens in a forum this large. |

Sorry if I'm repeating something because I only read the first few post but I do think there are cliques around and I think people sometimes migrate to people that has the most post because they believe they may have the answers(same with breeders, even tho a lot of the breeders seem to lack on some of the questions). And sometimes you are waiting for someone to post on your thread but you see people posting on others and think, 'hey, they might not know the answer to my question' or 'They probably didn't see my post.' But then someone post almost the exact same thing and then here comes tons of people (who you saw reply to other threads that were by yours the other day).. And sometime you can see a pattern were the same people post on all of the threads of a particular person. Oh, and when you see a lot of people that are 'respected' on you try to bump up your thread and they past it up isn't real good for me (sarcasm shown here). especially with a thread with a title that really addresses a type of person (like a breeder) and non of that type replies. (you're thankful someone replied but you're hoping for the type in your title) Sometimes you have to realize that YT isn't everything and threads sometimes won't be able to produce an answer to your questions. Broden the places were you can look for answers at This is my Opinion! |

I personally am fairly new to Yt and love it, made one thread when I was first on here..have not since..I do make comments, at times I do not bother, depending on the topic. I feel lost many times, not being anyone's fault. I do not know how to bump, nor do avatar's, I just learned how to do the quote. I am still a little shy using some of the smilies...some people have it down so good it almost looks like it is there signature...or maybe it is.. I have read this whole thread, and gee it is not easy when new to remember everyone...I am trying and love this YT. Lots of great people..when I do make a new thread, I will sit and ponder of how I can make my thread jump out and say please read me... pooh's mum and you can call me that anytime.. |
Hey mypreciouspups..don't feel alone about knowing nothing. I can't do avatars either but there is always someone to help. And if you notice I don't have a signature 'cause I can't do that either. And as for all the cute little smilie things, well I am totally lost there. I don't even know how to post pictures so always have to have someone do that for me too. There are so many helpful people on here. I think there are groups of people who have been on here longer and know each other better so I have noticed that some threads get lots of answers and some don't. I really don't have answer since I am new to this yorkie thing and to forums and chat rooms but I just keep plugging away and someday I will get there....and so will you. Patty |

LOL, I ramble right? I guess my point to you and anyone else who feels sort of lost is if you hang around, you'll eventually feel right at home. If you are confused about anything, just ask. We do silly things like adding funny things to our signatures or coming up with silly phrases but it is not to exclude anyone- it's just for fun and EVERY SINGLE member is in on it- or is welcome to be. Just ask anything and you will get an answer.:) |
