Bad Habits?
 
I know we all have them, but how do we stop doing it?

I have a awful habit that I can not stop doing! It's biting my lower lip where that dog bit me. It still has scare tissue so I feel a bump on my lip and I bite at it, I do it without even knowing I'm doing it. :rolleyes:

I have tried gum, I try to put chap stick on it but nothing seems to help.

Any advise?

What is your bad habit, maybe we can help!

I bite my bottom lip too. It has actually gotten infected twice from me chewing on it. :rolleyes:

what do we do? It is driving me crazy, I have it so sore right now. But I can't stop! :confused:

I twirl my hair. I hate it when I see others doing it but I do it too! I have a girlfriend that swats my hand when she sees me doing it...

my niece twirls her hair too,now my great niece does it because she sees her aunt doing it.i constley rub my eyebrows to see if i need to pluck them it drives me nuts and i cant seem to stop doing it.:confused:

I bite the inside of my mouth on the bottom. :( And I also pick at the skin on the sides of my fingers. :( Like everyone else said, I can't seem to stop. :rolleyes:

I used to twirl my hair and play with my ear when i used to drink out of a bottle, idk why it always made me sleeepy.

habits
 
Buy a large rubber band, wear it, snap your wrist each time you bit your lip nails etc...

I don't even notice when i bite them, my bf slaps my hand

I do that too. Always have. For as long as I can remember. I wish I could stop, but can't.

I have thought about hypnosis. It's really driving me crazy, I even put my sheet in my mouth at night to prevent me from biting on it while I'm trying to fall asleep :(

I found that painting my nails helped to prevent me from biting them. But the only thing that truly broke the habit for me 100% was having to wear braces for a year. My teeth were too sore to bite my nails, and now it just feels awkward. So if you want to drop a buttload of money to really break the habit... :D :D :D


The bad habit I picked up, however, is clenching my teeth. My mom said I used to grind when I was little. Now, even though the braces are gone, I clench my teeth all the time... especially when I sleep.

Have you talked to your Doctor about it?I wonder if meds for OCD would help.Worth a shot.
