Fashion question
 
Do you guys think i will look stupid if i wear white today? LOL Now that it's cold, what is the rule, you can't wear white after which certain day? I want to wear this white skirt with black tights and black boots. What do you think? lol my bf said i look like im in the 80s:rolleyes:

Well the old school rule is that you cannot wear white after labor day! However, that rule has long been out moded...Haven't you seen how many coats, sweaters and other winter items are made in white or gorgeous winter white...The key is to make sure the garnment is not out of season. You can tell the difference between a fall/winter skirt and a summer skirt intended for warm weather regardless of tights and boots, and I personally always think people dressed out of season do not look bad, just a tad foolish...The 80s are really sort of popular at the moment anyway, so go for it if you like it.

Ok i managed to take pics real quick before i leave. Does it look dumb? lol It is kinda a summer skirt...

Eh, who cares! Do what you want. I think there are many more fashion disasters (don't even get me started on those... mom jeans, tennis shoes with business wear) than wearing white after labor day. :p

As Marilyn Monroe said, "It's better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring."

ETA: It looks great! Love the tights (I think that's what they are.. they're kind of dark to tell in the picture).

OMG! Mom jeans! LMAO! :yelrotflm Sorry Kyle, that totally cracked me up! Don't you just HATE the mom jeans! lol. Man they are baaaaad! :thumbdown Gotta love that wide, "pear butt" look they give off to one's rear end :laugh:

Summer time= Jeans under skirt
Winter time= Mini skirt, high heels, and HUGE parka jacket that doesnt even hit their waist....they look like they are freezing their bootys off!:eek:

they totally threw away the 'no white' rule a LONG time ago! I wear white year round, so do most people I know! I don't wear white shoes or pants year round but thats it really! I think a white skirt is fine, as long as its not one of those gauzy, clearly "summer" skirts... ya know what I mean?

I also think it depends where you are going... if its work, I think the skirt is too short for work, nevermind that its white and VERY summery. I feel for ya though... I miss my summer clothes very much when winter/fall sets in! I always want to winterize certain items. Sometimes you just gotta retire them til next summer though! The skirt is cute, but definately summery! :) Get a winter white wool skirt that you can wear with tights & boots... it will be more fashionable for the season!!! :)

I agree...wear what you want....there are so many thousands of people out there that clearly do not follow any fashion rules...some look good, some, er, not so much!

Man...for awhile (I'm alittle slow today) I had no clue what mom jeans were, but I understand now.......and yes...those are NOT flattering at all!!!! :eek:
