My Mom was such a stickler for the no white after Labor Day rule, it drove me crazy. I love wearing white after Labor Day now that I'm an adult and allowed too.:p I think you should wear whatever you feel fabulous in but since you asked, I'll assume you didn't. So... truthfully, IMO that skirt is too summery a fabric. Cute, fun skirt though.

Summer time= Jeans under skirt
Winter time= Mini skirt, high heels, and HUGE parka jacket that doesnt even hit their waist....they look like they are freezing their bootys off!:eek:
i told my bf that! he is obsessed with anything Japanese like Mangas and the fact that you guys are more advanced than we are and i told him well then i am with their style:)

Thnx:) I mean yea i do wear what i want but i always ask him how i look just to make sure. Even a 'you look fine' is good enough but he will tell me the truth about my outfit so i always ask. oh btw i see a lot of ppl on the train wearing messed up sneakers with business wear, sooo funny!

It's just for school, not work lol For work i would wear work appropriate clothes like pencil skirts that look businessy and cute vests, usually i go to club monaco, they have nice stuff there! And thanks for the tips, i plan to get a winter wool skirt but i haven't gone shopping just yet:)

Man...for awhile (I'm alittle slow today) I had no clue what mom jeans were, but I understand now.......and yes...those are NOT flattering at all!!!! :eek:

As with many customs and etiquette dictums, it's difficult to pin down the reason behind the prohibition against white after Labor Day. We searched on variations of "wear white after Labor Day" and sifted through the Etiquette and Fashion categories, Originally, the rule was more along the lines of "Only wear white shoes between Memorial Day and Labor Day." Furthermore, it mainly applied to white pumps or dress shoes. White tennis shoes and off-white boots seem exempt, as are any shoes worn by a winter bride. "Winter white" clothing (e.g., cream-colored wool) is acceptable between Labor Day and Memorial Day too.
