What a great idea to start this thread!!!

I'm sitting on the couch and feeling too lazy to head over to our Mojito file so I'll fill in what I can...

Well, Mojito is acting crazy at the moment. We took him out to the 9th Ave street fair today and he was SOOO good. We stopped off at a local bar and he made some new friends. He's great with everyone so he actually fell asleep in someone's arms but now he's up and man, is he ever up!!!

People were stopping us on the street today and kept asking where we got him. Most folks were really nice but some definitely turned their noses up when I told them where he was purchased. I think it's hilarious. People are such purists -- as a person who grew up with a family member that bred and showed Yorkies for a living, I think it's odd that folks are willing to make a judgement call without even getting to know our baby!!

Just an observation... but we couldn't be happier with Mojito!

I'm new to the forum and have one question. Sorry for not staying with the thread, but since you all are from New York I need some advise. My daughter bought a yorkie, Pierce, from the Puppy Boutique last July. Now we are aware that their puppies could possibly be from puppy mills :warning: . Not to mention he had the Kennel cough for so long. They recommend a vet from Howard Beach and I'm not happy at all with their services :( . My other daughter bought Mia in Puerto Rico while we were on vacation. Now we found out she buys her puppies from a breeder located in Texas. He imports them from Ireland. At this point and time we don't care from where they come from. We love them and they are ours, I thank God for letting me have these precious yorkies to love. To make the story short I'm looking for a vet in the Brooklyn/Queens area. It doesn't matter really where he is located, as long as he is a respectable and caring Doc. I need to take Mia to be spayed and get her rabies shot. Anyone could recommend me their vet?????

I'm so sorry to hear that you've had some health problems with your daughters' pups but it's great to hear that Pierce and Mia are now doing well.

I was curious so I did a quick search to find out more about the "Puppy Boutique" and this is what I got...

Regardless, as you said we all fall in love with our pups and as long as they're happy and healthy we could care less where they came from.

I live in Manhattan and have a great vet in Chelsea but I'm sure that Fran's suggestion is wonderful since she's been going to them for 18 years!

that site all the complaints mention the 2 medication 1 is nutrical and the other is to prevent kennel cough those people probally didnt give the pups the stuff

dont know how true it is but my vet told me that the pup can get kennel cough from change in places because the pups go from the breeder to the place to a new home its to much for them
i know kennel cough is only serious when its not taken care of

:cool: Irmi - I did meet a person who also got a sick puppy from them. It is one thing they don't guarantee is the Kennel Cough. Pretty much must puppies will get Kennel Cough from these stores since they have so many puppies (coming in from puppy mills) and the disease is airborne.

:aimeeyork He did get over it while we were vacationing. I guess the ocean air and the salt water did wonders. He did spend everyday for two weeks soaking in the sun :shade: .

I have read so many threads with so much information. I'm really glad I found this site.

I cannot believe your mocha, your mojito, and my lily are half siblings !!! This calls for a serious "quality canine" meeting ....perhaps in central park? :D

Is Sammi from the breeder at Ojibwa Yorkies? The reason I ask is that she is 20 minutes from my VERY SMALL hometown (and Osceola is basically the same area as Baraga, where Ojibwa is located) and I know she's a reputable breeder. I had once looked into getting a puppy from her, but didn't want to take my new puppy back here on a plane so soon. If I can get one of her puppies here in NY, I would be so happy! Thanks!

I went by Quality Canines on Saturday and I was a little skeptical about ringing the bell and going in... The place looked a little sketchy... So I continued driving by and didn't go in...

He has got a bell because he was robbed...He is very protective of his pups... :)

Ojibwa Yorkies is a show breeder in MI. Her name is Rose Edwards. I don't think she would ever place pups with a broker.

Just a few days ago I met a fellow yorkie owner on the street who asked me where I had purchased Kicho, as she was considering getting another. I couldn't remember the name of Quality Canines until I started Googling around today.
Not only did Ivan sell me my angel - but according to the paperwork Little Boy Bleu II is his father also! His BDay is 12/10/02.

Well geez Louise! That Lil Boy Bleu gets around!!

Sammi feels a lil left out that he was not her daddy! LOL!! :)

We need to have a Quality Canines meet up :)

Has anyone had any issues with their dog's kidneys'? Lily MAY have a slight kidney problem.... but we cant be sure just yet.

Just wondering if any of his "other" kids have experienced any health issues.
