Yorkie gathering? (Boston) Hello everyone. I am a proud yor kie owner who loves to socialize my baby with as many dogs as possible especially yorkies. So I was wondering if maybe sometime in the spring some of you folks in the Boston area would like to have some sort of meet-&-greet at a local dog park in the spring time? Figure it would be nice to put a few faces to some names. I have helped organize little gatherings like these in other forums I belong to (car and motorcycle forums ) and they always have nice turnouts. If any of you think it would be something you would like to take part in or have any suggestions feel free to chime in. |
Nice to meet you! Welcome to Yorkie Talk! I'm from RI, so I guess we are neighbors. :) Maybe I will see you at one of the local meetups. :animal-pa |

Hi I just posted on the general forums about a similar idea. I would love to help organize if possible. I can also help put together some goodie bags or something. yay so exciting!! |
Ha, I just replied to your post in the general area... This would be a great place to meet :) Liberty Hotel - The Yard |
Hi... I am in, like I said in the other post we did this a couple years ago and it was fun to meet everyone.... Looking forward to it once the weather is nice... |
Hi I have called them in the past to see if they are pet friendly and they told me it was only on thursday evening or something that they allowed dogs. Depending on the interest, we can get a pet friendly park or something so the poochums can run around. I can set it up for a weekend in April on diva puppy's facebook page. lets see how many people respond? |

How does the week of Apr 23 work for everyone? |
I'm on the south shore and have 3 little yorkie boys - we would love to come to a meet up. I'm pretty new to YT so still learing how this all works...but in the meantime...has anyone used the garlic powder for tick prevention? The groomer told me about it today. They are all on K9 Advantix but still get ticks (found 4 in the past few weeks) and it's just going to be worse this summer. The Advantix is expensive and really doesn't seem to work at all so I was thinking of trying the garlic powder. I would love to know if it's worked for anyone...thanks! |

I am in Wilmington now, do you guys know of any public parks in the area with dog park? I am sure the dogs will love a play date :) |
no i dont..mine are only 13-14 weeks old and need another round of shots before i take them anywhere outside,i will be going this week. |
Hi - Fenway and I live in Dedham, we would like to attend. :) |
My husband and I have 2 dog parks that we prefer in the area. One is the Sharon Dog Park, it is mulched and huge! It also had a separate area for the little dogs, which is great when there are a lot of big dogs in the larger area. The other dog park which is nice is in Cambridge (not sure of the name) but it is very well kept up and is graveled (great for our shoes and the dogs don't get too dirty) They also have a small dog area and a time out area. We have had a lot of luck finding other small dogs for Lola to play with at this one. But they are both really nice :) |
cambridge is closer to me I guess,I need to get another set of shots first, should be within the next week but is it too cold out ? mine will be about 15 or 16 weeks then.they really havent been out since we got home from Ga.:aimeeyork |
We actually got a new pup yesterday who also needs his shots and is too young to be out at dog parks, Maybe we can meet up when the weather gets a little warmer and the pups get a little bigger!:D |
