In great need of a show breeders advice I had been showing my yorkie for 1 year or more. I have learned so much and have had a ball doing it. It was something I always wanted to do. I took classes along with my little male. He is the perfect dog to show. He has the perfect personality. Great top line, great little face. Great ear set. He is a dreamer.. So well trained in the ring if I must say so my self. Well here comes the bad part. My heart is broken. I have worked so hard, spent so much to find out he has a modified coat. I knew I had to work hard on his coat. I just thought that was a normal thing to do. I would spend hours and hours at a time working out tangels after giving him a bath. On any giving time I would spend 5 or more hours. I hated taking him out of the oil because I new as soon as his hair hit water it would mat. Then one day at a show I was beside a handler I felt of the coat and could tell there was a difference. I had just always thought " Oh they really know what to put in those coats". But I had become friends with these guys and I was just chatting one day about how much time it took me to groom each week. They looked at me like REALLY. There were spending not even a fraction of the time I was. Well I got me a little female alittle while later. NOW I know. Her coat is to the floor. I can run a comb thur her hair any givving day of the week. It takes me 20 min. to comb her out after a bath. Well after finding out this . This year. I have quit showing my boy. I dont want to breed my little girl to him just to risk getting a soft coat. So I have been taking my time to not make tihs big mistake ever again. I have been looking for a pure silk. I have found a line I think is good. Anyone with any info on the PELLERD "Ore line please let me know. I love that line they look nice. But I dont want to make the mistake of getting a soft coat again, |
