Meet up Hi! Anyone interested in a meet up in CT? I am from Western Ma near the CT border. Has anyone been to Harkness State Park -------right on the ocean. Dogs are allowed on leash but not right on the beach/sand ( no swimming allowed) area during the spring/ summer months. However, there is an enormous expanse of beautiful lawn. Think Newport mansion ( the Harkness family mansion) ---beautiful gardens-----lawn----restroom facilities. There is a picnic area, good parking (low price) and more. Spend a relaxing day by the sea with your yorkie or any other well behaved dog. Google Harmess State Park in CT. to see pictures.:aimeeyork:aimeeyork:aimeeyork |
Whoops! The entire name is Harkness Memorial State Park. Google to see fabulous pictures. Also, yesterday I went to Halibut State Park located in Massachusetts in the Glouster/Rockport area. Beautiful! Right on the ocean. great views and dog friendly. DAB |
How did the June meet up go? I am still learning how to use this site. Mostly, I have been on the sick yorkie site since my little girl had LS surgery in June. She is recovering and looks so much better altjough she is still on medication. This forum has been so very helpful. I posted Harkness Memorial State Park in CT about an hour drive from the MA/CT border---please google to see it. I go there often with my 2 Yorkie girls. Pack your own picnic and of course food for you Yorkie b/c there is nowhere on site to buy food. It is beautiful, on the ocean, and dog friendly. Rest room facilities are of course there. It is opened year round. Is anyone familiar with Harkness? DAB |
