I just thought I'd post a video of Kaos doing one of his tasks as a service dog. He is trained to find my medication and bring it to me....enjoy. :)

(Excuse the mess of a room) :p

He's a smart little boy. I currently have my foot in a cast and Deuce is my little service dog. I could yell and yell for the hubs to come and help me but he never hears me. Now I just call Deuce, he comes quickly and I tell him to "Go get Daddy." He finds him, pokes him and miraculously he then hears me calling. I know I could use my cell phone but I really think Deuce likes doing the job!!!!!

Wow, Kaos is amazing! Such a smart boy. i just love how he looked over on the stand first and then looked around and you could tell when he spotted it:thumbup: What a little sweetheart!

These little guys want so much to please... And they want a JOB! He is helping you, but having a purpose -- a real job -- and the appreciation and satisfaction that comes with it will make him far happier than just being an adored little pet.

The second I ask him to find my medicine, a switch is flipped in his brain and he is 100% focused on finding it. NOTHING can distract him. He thoroughly enjoys his tasks, because he knows the appreciation I have for him. :)

Thanks for all the nice comments! He really is the love of my life. :)

I just wished employers would realize the need those of us with disabilities have to work beside our dogs. I have been looking for a retail job all month and it has been a nightmare...it's so discouraging. :(

That was so great to see, thanks for posting. It must be such a comfort to know that kaos is always there for you when you need him! You're lucky to have him, as he is to have you!!

@ Kaos, maybe try a "mom and pop" kind of store.

I worked at an educational supply store (it wasn't a franchise just owned by a really awesome family) and one of the employees had diabetes and his dog would be at work with him everyday and when the dog would be jumping around and sniffing at the owner we all knew to give the owner a break to eat something. It was really cool working with them. The dog was a huge german shepherd too!

I love how he looks for it in different places...checks the nightstand, the top of the fridge and then the desk. What a smart boy!
