| white crusty in his eyes My little Yorkie (3 years old) has sometimes a white crusty in his eyes. I take it out with a Qtip. Is it normal? is it an infection? |

| It could be My little Patti had something similar, so I wouldn't fool around with it. Patti's cleared up quickly with medication.

| Medication for eye Hi This is what the Vet gave me for my babies eye problem. Voltaren Drops & Ciloxan. She was also on pills for 10 days. I don't know the name but they were antibiotics. Hope this helps..... Hugs,

| White Crusty Eyes It can be very common for yorkies to have eye discharge that can harden. When it's white, you can remove the white material with Dog Eye Wash on a cotton ball and then use the eye wash on the dog. Your vet ca give you the eyewash. The vet can tell if it's an infection and then they will give you an antibiotic ointment to put in the eyes. My Yorkie has allergies seasonally and her eyes get red inside and she has white things in her eyes. I have done what I suggested above and wash her eyes out 2-3 times a day. so far the vet has said it is not infected yet. It is common for yorkies to get allergies this time of year, so your vet will be able to tell you. I give my dog 2 ml of Baby Benedryl before we go for our long walk (it's what I do for myself also) Keep an eye on it if the color of the discharge changes to yellow or green or gets worse, tell the vet right away. Hope this gives you more info. |
