She's also been shaved down twice (during the summer) & that changes the color too. It's really amazing to see the color transformations on them.:)
I think coat their health & diet has alot to do w/the condition of the coat. What are you feeding Lolli? She's adopted, right? I don't know too much about her past, but that can have alot to do w/the condition of her coat now (maybe?). With the proper food that contains Omegas 3 & 6, & the daily allowance of vitamins & minerals, the hair will greatly improve. | Well I got her from a breeder, actually. She WAS the breeder, I don't know how many litters she had. The owner was "retiring" her and I snatched her up immediately. I do not agree with breeding and my girl is 7 years old, I don't think it's right she was bred that old even though people will tell me that it's ok for them to at this age I just feel she should have been given a life other than puppy making.
Anyway, so the previous owner was a vet tech but she didn't really act like one. She was feeding her Purina One puppy food (as I guess most of the other dogs were puppies since she was a breeder). I bought her Purina Natural (or something to this effect I forget exactly) but I didn't know about there being 'bad' quality food for dogs until recently so I haven't figured what brand I should switch her to that is a 'safe' brand of food. I need something I can purchase from a store as ordering online + shipping gets pricey and money is tight since a recent family death took a lot of money. Do you have any suggestions on food that I might be able to find in a pet store and not have to order online?
I've had her about 3 weeks or something like that. She doesn't itch or seem to have a thyroid issue (I tried to feel on her thyroids and didn't feel, the vet I spoke to was a non-profit so did not offer services to check such things but told me how I could feel her thyroids). We haven't had her to the vet yet as I said a death in the family has taken a lot of time and money. So we should be getting her in in a week or 2. So I'm not sure why she has thinning hair. Its really thin just on her back to just above her rump, but the skin under looks soft and normal not red or bumpy or anything like that |
