This Is The Way I Dry My Fur Here's Gracie's very own technique of drying her fur. Do just the Yorkie's do this or does your other breed of dog do this too? |
I am not sure if other breeds do it, but all of ours do. Even if they are fully dried. |
My havanese does not do this but my yorkie does. We love to watch her after her bath. |

When I was younger we had a toy poodle and he did this too. My babies do the crazy drying dance. I just throw down a couple of dry towels and they go nuts. Fun to watch.:D |

my Gracie does this too!!! its sooooooooooooooo funny!!! she will also do it on my towels when I get out of the shower and if I drop my towel she will go nuts on it ;) lol |
Mine do that too. I have to grab them when we come in from a walk in the rain otherwise they will jump on the couch and "dry" themselves off. |
All of the dogs I've had (Yorkie, Chinese Crested and Toy Fox Terrier) have done that after a bath. My Yorkie likes to sprint back and forth through the apartment more than rubbing himself on the floor. My Chinese Crested likes to rub himself on the carpet. The Toy Fox Terrier did the same as my Yorkie. It's always so entertaining. |
Hey everybody, It must be a YORKIE thing!!! We have our 5th and 6th puppys now and ALL of ours have done the ~~~~afterbath dance~~~~ we've been watching it for 32 wonderful years... SO funny....... |
Kassie does the same thing , nice to know she isn't alone , too cute. She also does it after she eats and I always say how nice of her to wipe her dirty face on my carpet and furniture lol. |
Oliver and Brooklyn do it too! Even thought i dry them with the blow dryer! Its like they want to get the clean off!!:D Cute video!! |
too cute Besides my yorkie who does the same thing when his fur is wet I also have a cocker spaniel and she does the same thing. She also likes the blow dryer and she will roll around like that while i have the dryer on her and she will keep sliding around to get dry. Your video was so cute |

This is what we call rubbing the stink off. To us she smells awesome to her we think she dose not like it. As soon as we towel her off we tell her go rub your stink off now. Bailey also does this after I mist her hair during brushing time. So much for making her look nice and pretty...lol. Quote:

Fur Drying. Hi: When I put my little one out on the patio to shake off the worst of the water she would first rub against the house wall and then the patio concrete, until I grabbed her to stop her!!! She would then do the same dance as yours on the carpet inside, but would transfer to a large towel afterwards. (A much better idea!) She really enjoyed the drying trip as well as the hair drier. Also I had to re-cover my sofa as it had a dark strip all around where she would dry off her head & ears??? LOL These dogs sure are funny sometimes.:aimeeyork |
Both my Yorkies do it and my Shih Tzu used to do this too! So funny to watch. Its like they want to get dry and get every bit of smell good off!! |
My Dachsie does it too! It really does seem like there is something in the shampoo that gives them energy. After baths Casey and Peanut would chase each other around the house barking and jumping and trying to rub "that smelly stuff" off. |
My 10 week old Yorkie does this as well, my Lhasa-Apso also does this but he also sprints all over the house. lol It's so funny to watch. Right now we go through this every night as it is very wet from snow melting so very dirty out right now so I am bathing at least twice a day. :) |
toooooo Funny!:p Enjoyed watching!!! Yes, Bella does this too. She knows the routine. After bath, I lay this huge beach towel on the floor & she runs & runs, finally diving onto the towel to do the ritual.:D I'm quite amazed that then she will actually follow me back into the bathroom to blow dry her.:rolleyes: She doesn't mind the blow dryer at all. Just the bath part!!!:eek: |
