Dixie doing agility
 
Here's a wee video of Dixie doing agility. it's at the end of the training session which is why she looks like she's taking her sweet time after the chute! There's nothing tricky in this circuit. We're just going round in a circle but it's quite neat to see Dixie fly through the tyre and over the long jump.

Dixie is doing a great job, looks like she enjoys agility. Thanks for sharing the video. How long have you and Dixie been doing agility?

I've recently become interested in this sport and am going to see about getting Reno started soon.

thanks for sharing. I've never seen agility. I've thought about have Hot Rod do it. It looks like fun.

That is absolutely the sweetest thing ever! She looks so happy!!! Do you train her yourself or pay a trainer? If you take her to training and pay, can I ask if its super expensive? I think that would be great for my Charlie. He has MILES of extra energy (and lacks a little focus). Thanks!!!

We've been doing agility for about two years. We've taken our time getting to where we are but it's about having fun. Agility is a super way to develop a relationship with your dog because you have to work together. I've learnt so much about Dixie's personality through training that I don't think I would have got just hanging out with her.

Hi I train Dixie myself. I'm a member of a club and they train you to train your dog. I don't know if my costs would translate to you because I'm in New Zealand! I pay about NZ$190 per year to belong to two agility clubs - one's for training ($150) and the other runs a monthly competition for all members.

I love training my dogs because it's about working together to build a relationship. Dixie's gained so much more confidence. Also for myself I'm much more likely to go for that walk when it's cold or raining because I know I've got to keep their fitness up. Before you start agility training it's important to have a good sit, down, wait, and that they can walk near you on a loose lead - paying attention to you.

I found agility training is a great way to learn how to relate to your dog.

Oh, NO! I'm on vacation and can't access the video. The hotel has a computer center, but it doesn't have the right software.

That does it. I'm heading home early! OK, maybe not that, but I won't sleep until I find a way to view it. I've been asking for this vid for a year now.

ah mike sweet that you're taking an interest in Evil Wee. I'm trying to convince Dixie's new official videographer that videoing agility events was definitely in the job description before he moved in. :D

Dixie and You are very impressive. You make it look very easy but I'm sure there are many hours of training behind every trick.

That goes without saying! I still haven't been able to view the video, but I'll be home tomorrow.

Finally! I got to see it, and I am amazed. Dixie didn't hesitate once. And she's got some springs on her. She was clearing those jumps by a longshot.

You've done really, really well with her. Thanks for the video. I love it!

Yup quite a bit but it's so worth it to see Dixie enjoy herself and gain in confidence everyday.

Thanks. I think she's super. she enjoys it so much. She drags me into the hall for the agility practice. she's even doing the teeter (sort of) now. I'd almost despaired of her ever having the courage.

Sooo cute thanks for sharing. Are all the dogs in your group small or do they mix them up- big and small? I have been interested in joining something like this for my 1 1/2 yr old Petey. The cutie in my picture.

I loved the video... I had wanted to do agility with my Franklin because he loves to run and jump, but when I took him to regular training he was scared and hid in a corner...so I don't think he has the personality which I am so sad about...maybe I can try again...he just turned 3
