OMG I'm shocked at how much she really does look like a chi all shaved! She is precious and her hair will be back soon.

I am in total shock at how much she looks like a Chihuahua..unreal LOL...that last picture of her says it all dosent it?? It so unbelievable wow!!

never realised our babies look like chihuahuas when shaved down ...
now teach her to say "Yo quiero Taco Bell" ....

This is so funny because I was just talking to one of the groomers that I work with today about how yorkies look like chihuahuas when they are shaved and she told me she had shave a yorkie like that once because the owner wanted her to.

aww, thats horrible she had that going on so bad she had to be shaved. I know you'll be glad when it grows back. she was too pretty with her hair.

I bet Eury is more aerodynamic now with no hair!:D I know that when I cut my little boy's hair shorter at times, he seems to gain more of a sprint to his step and fly through the air faster when we're playing.

You're a great mom. I'm sure it wasn't easy to make the decision you made to cut her down so short, but it definitely was in her best interest if it will help her skin condition.:)

Actually it wasn't all that bad but we've been dealing with it for a the last month and the vet was worried that it seemed to be getting worse and he didn't want to put her on stronger meds cuz she's only 4 1/2 months old and only 2 lbs. And so far it seems to have worked. Her red skin is only slightly pink today and she's barely scratched at all... YAY!

She does look like a different dog in those before and after pics. She's beautiful! I hope everything clears up for her. I'm sure she feels like a new woman!!!! Eury, your gorgeous, doll.

i just meant its horrible for our babies to get something that makes them itch and scratch so much they cant keep their pretty hair. she was beautiful, and still is for a chi. but shes a yorkie and I know it had to be a hard decision for you but I think you probably did the right thing cause i'm sure it feels so much better than being dry and itchy all the time. goodluck and when her hair comes back, it just might come back even prettier than before, if thats possible. I loved her hair and i'm sure you did too. but it dont matter, you dont love them for their hair anyway. their still the same baby and you love em shaved or not.

Thank you everyone so very much! Yesterday she was pouting all day and I felt like such a mean momma. This morning though she woke up and was back to her old self. She's gotten used to wearing her t-shirt and has been picking on the kitties again and wanting to cuddle. :rolleyes:

Last evening we went for our normal walk and the peeps used to seeing me with her kept asking if we'd gotten another dog. LOL

No matter what she is a Cutie... YOU now get a chance to see what it feels like to own a Chi.. LOL... Toooooooo Cute! You will have to update us again after her hair grows out again.. Then do the Before , After & After :p

Ahhh you are are so right! The vet said her hair would probably be much prettier when it grows back. It'll be more the adult fur and not so much the puppy fur. I hope he and you are right. Her puppy fur was a matting nightmare! Well at least she won't have to deal with me getting the mats out for a while. :)

aww poor baby...keke....i recently had to shaved Tootsie completely because she got into a patch of stickers and it was all over here from head to tail...so i know the feeling...keke

:aimeeyork She is absolutely adorable...with or with out! She has the most precious eyes. :aimeeyork

I've been so upset because, Jojo has some matts that have to be shaved off. If we only shave the spots he needs he would look weird :eek: His coat is just so diffrent than Josie's. I've been against the idea of shaving him.

After seeing Eury, I have a way-- better attitude about it! Hair does grow back :thumbup: Hopefully my little man, will look as sweet as Eury! :aimeeyork :animal-pa

Awww thank you! I'm so glad it made you feel better about your own little guy. Did you see these dematters at Petco? I'm thinking about getting one for Eury because her fur mats so easily and she hates when I work to get them out. These tools look like they'd help without having to shave :) :

OMG!!!!! Totally looks like a different dog. I often find myself wondering what a Yorkie would look like shaved. Thanks for the posting!!! My BF will LOVE this cuz he is always wondering the same thing.
Sorry about the skin condition, since you've taken the correct measures, I'm sure it will clear up fast.

Eury was scratching at her ears and there was no sign of an infection and the vet has this great tool where they put this tool in their ears (like a normal ear-examining tool) and it magnifies and shows what the inside of the ear look like on a monitor. When we saw an ear mite (a tiny/microscopic bug) crawling around I literally gasped!

Thanks to the meds, she stopped scratching her ears but then she started to scratch at her neck and body. She didn't have fleas, she did have some dry skin but it wasn't bad, and the vet said that some times ear mites migrate away from the ears to get away from the meds. So to cover all the bases and yet not give her lots of meds, we shaved Eury, conditioned her skin, and then the vet gave us some meds, mostly to prevent infection and to get rid of the remaining ear mites.
