New Member I am new to this site but I don't have a picture yet to post of my baby boy. I have a 4 yr old yorkie his name is Shagger, he is about 15 pounds and just as sweet as can be. He is a bigger yorkie, he is not over weight but just a bigger size than others. He does not bark at all, he will growl from time to time but I am blessed that he is not the typical yappy yorkie :) I love yorkies, they are just a different kind of dog all around. He followes me around the house and is everywhere I am. The only problem I have found is that he is allergic to something, he scratches all the time. He always has scabbs dug on his head and I cant figure out what is causing him to do this. I have changed his food, his shampoo, my detergent for my clothes but nothing has helped. As soon as I get a picture of him I will post it. |
Is the food your using have corn in it. A lot of dogs have allgeries to corn in the dog foods. I make sure I don't buy a food that has corn, but rather rice instead. |
Hi and welcome! I just got my first yorkie about 3 weeks ago, so I'm fairly new to the site too. So far I've loved it though, it's so nice to have a place to go to talk to other yorkie owners! Congrats on the no barking! My Hercules will be 3 months tomorrow and he gives us little barks every now and then. I'm sure he'll be a terror as he continues to grow! I noticed under your name that you're from Maryland, so am I. I grew up in Southern Maryland - Calvert County and now live in Crofton. |
I just looked it up and it does have corn in it. I feed him the Eukanuba reduced fat food. I have had him on all kinds of food and he has always scratched but I never thought to look for corn. Thanks!!! |
Yes bld2751, I live in Maryland. I lived in North Carolina for 7 years then moved to Maryland and have been living here for the past 15 years. I live in Carroll County. I love it here I would never move back to NC!!! |
I'm glad you like Maryland so much. For the most part I like it here too. I don't like the cold too much though, so winter weather is the only thing I don't like. And the fact that everyone freaks out when we get even a little bit of snow around here! |
Welcome tbrooke99! We'd love to see a picture of your big 'little guy'. Yorkies come in all shapes and sizes, and they're just so lively! |
