She's getting spayed and I'm soooo nervous!!! Hey everyone...Dolce is getting spayed tomorrow morning and I am soooo nervous for her. I have a whole list of questions to ask the vet before she goes in. (Thanks of course to all the wonderful people on here)...just wanted to know if u guys could send up some prayers that she is ok, and to let me know what to expect when she comes home. Thank u all!!!!!!!! :aimeeyork |
Good Luck tomorrow Dolce!! You are in our thoughts and prayers!! You should expect her to be a lil groggy from the medication... Lots of Love Fran and Sammi |
One thought might be to request that the vet does the intubation instead of one of his aides. Good luck! |
Poor Dolce good luck tomorrow..She will be fine = ) |
Awwww thank u all for ur prayers and kind words...I will let everyone know how she is when i pick her up. I honestly dont know what i would do if i didnt have YT!!! U guys are the best and always give the best advice!!!! :D |
Poor baby - we have two girls now after only having boys previously... Gypsy Rose is nearly 2 yrs old now and we had her spayed after her 1st season a year ago (yes she was late.. and that is normal to have them done after 1st season in Wales!).. omg was I worried but she was fine.... 1st day I was so worried but by next afternoon she was by the front door waiting to go "walkies!!" . Little Gizzie is even later than Gyps and she is 1 next month and no sign of a season yet and our vet won't spay her until then..!! Best of luck to Dolce - she WILL be fine .. I know how I worried but you feel so good afterwards as you know you have done the right thing! I dressed Gyps in what you call a baby's "onesie" - we call it a babygro... as I hate those awful Elizabethan collars..!! It stops them getting the stiches out and thehy look cute too..!! Ana xx :aimeeyork |
Lexi was spayed May 18 and I too was worried, hell I even cried when I dropped her off (she started whinning for me and that made it harder to leave) We can all tell you she'll be fine and not to worry, but you will. So Lexi and I are going to just say good luck, heal quickly, and we'll be thinking about you... |
Ok u guys all make me feel soooo good!!! I'm tearing up because u guys are all so thoughtful!! Can I ask u guys this?? Would u think that the vet is liable if something GOD FORBID happens to my baby?? I know they are going to think i am crazy tomorrow because i have a laundry list of questions to ask the vet...last time when i was there i asked how competent they were on spaying...lol He didnt look too happy, but it was my vets nephew who is in the practice with him and he looks young...so i asked...he said "i have done hundreds of little dogs and numerous yorkies in my lifetime" I felt better after hearing that. Ok, enough of me being a "worrying mommy".... :( I just cant help it i love her so much!! Thanks again to all u guys....Dolce sends kisses to all ur furbabies. :aimeeyork |
I'll be praying for Dolce . I am sure everythings will be okay . Recently , Jade have been spayed , she was 3 lbs 6 Oz . The vet at the Animal Hospital told me that Spaying and neutering were the most easiest surgeries . |

Good Luck tomorrow we will keep Dolce in our thoughts and prayers....I am not looking forward to the time when Bella gets spayed either!! |
good luck tommorrow were waiting to hear from you be a brave baby :D |
Ok everyone, i just dropped her off and it was so hard. I spoke to the vet and asked him ALOT of questions. He told me they use the ISO anesthesia and also assured me that HE is the one who intubates because it is a very skilled procedure and feels safest only when him or his uncle and father do it (they are all vets in the same practice). He also said there is two layers of stitchs underneath and then he uses nylon stitches on top and does not like to put a cone on there head. He said he has about 1 in 20 patients come back that have removed their stitches...hopefully Dolce wont be that 1. Ok, I will post as soon as I pick her up this afternoon. Thanks again for the well wishes everyone...Dolce sends u all a kiss!!!!! |
How is Dolce? We were thinking about her!!!! |
Just saw your post .... hope Dolce came through with flying colors, as I am sure she did! It's harder on us Mom's than it is on our babies. Sounds like you have a great vet. I'm sure she will bounce right back! ;) |
I was getting worried for a bit because she came home and didnt want anything...just wanted to be held...and she even crawled on my fathers lap (she never does that because he has such a stern voice and she gets intimidated by him-hes never hit her or anything, just yelled)...i was shocked...i said "oh something must be wrong if she voluntarily crawled and wants to sit with him." lol She was like that basically until sunday late late afternoon...then she was back to her crazy self. So i think everything is ok now, but i feel awful when i have to force feed her the antibiotics (she wont take them even wrapped in some cheese)...i dont want her to hate me or be afraid of me because of that. Guess I will just have to keep saying to myself "its for her own good, she needs the medicine"....I appreciate sooooooo much all u guys thinking of her. I couldnt have gotten through it without u!! U guys are just the best!!!! Thank u again!!! |
glad to hear she is feeling better and surgery went well. |
Thank u Debbie...I know she is glad to be home and her mommy has de-stressed herself!! :D |
It wasn't as bad as I thought :aimeeyork I had my Chloegyrl spayed last thursday, I dropped her off at 8 am and picked her up at 4. She was alittle sleepy and out of it thursday night and alittle slower than normal on friday. On saturday she was pretty much back to normal. I was very nervous also, but very glad it is over with. Choe is only 6 months old. How old is your baby??? Best of luck and prayers go out to you and yours. :lovewings :yorkiesar |
chloegyrl-that is how Dolce was too...wasn't quite back to herself until yesterday afternoon...she is 10 mths old, I would have liked to do it sooner, but i was waiting for some baby teeth to fall out first...didnt help any as she had to have them removed too. Im glad to hear ur baby is fine now too....they are so helpless when they come home no?? Ya just wanna hold em and kiss the whole time!! Give ur baby a kiss from Dolce!! |
Glad Dolce is doing ok 4 Attachment(s) :aimeeyork Glad to hear your baby is doing ok. I was very sad to have to take Chloe and drop her off at the vet, but now that it is over I am very happy. My male yorkie had a baby tooth and we had to wait to have him nuetured. I made the appointment and had planned to have the tooth removed, but about a week before surgery the tooth fell out. :littleang :tinyheart |
Oh I love the pics!!! They are just so adorable!! I wanna get a male for Dolce to have a brother...I have to get the money first. Hopefully it will be within the next year!! |
My Gidget got spayed a few weeks ago and me and my hubby were frantic till we got her home. Our vet don't do intubation, it is to risky for the little ones. she's in our prayers. Read up on the intubation, it is best for your puppy if it isn't done. Gidget was back to her old self in a couple of days. |
Im glad that Dolce is fine and home. :) |
Glad to hear all went well and she doing good!! :) |
Yes I was very nervoud about the intubation...however, her vet is specially trained to intubate all small animals; so i let him. Everything turned out fine, thank God!! Now if she would just start going on the wee wee pad again....lol Thank u all for ur warm thoughts...a million puppy kisses from Dolce!!! :aimeeyork |
