Uh, Mom, are you sure these are safe? 2 Attachment(s) I probably have this posted in the wrong place, but it involves photos, so here goes.... My poor Gizmo really wanted to get down and up on the couch and it just wasn't safe. Poor baby! (see the sad photo with Gizmo on the pillow) Mommy (who thinks she is crafty at times) made a sad, sad attempt at making doggie steps out of cardboard. (see that cardboard wanna be thing in the next photo?) lol Well, several problems....top step is too high, no traction, etc..but the most serious issue is stability....so, I am going to break down and buy some doggie steps! (Yea Mom!) Any suggestions? (It can't be too heavy because my husband is still recovering from back surgery. That's one of the reasons for the steps since he can't bend over and pick Gizmo uip.) Thanks in advance! |
That's funny!!...That probably took you longer to make than the total time it got used!!...Don't apply for any carpenter jobs just yet.... Sorry about your husbands back, hope he's recovering well.... |

HAHAHA, those are some funny steps.......:p Your baby is adorable. ;) I got my puppy steps in target but I'm sure many places carry them. Good Luck ;) |
I got my doggie steps (3 step stairs) for the couches at linens 'n things...And then I got the doggie steps (4 step stairs) for the bed at Petco. |
You could also try ebay although the steps in the link that Ponyup posted do look like a good price. I like that they fold up so that you can put them out of the way. Most doggy steps are pretty bulky and can get in the way. I have also seen a pet ramp that is similar to the doggy steps. |

I also didn't try too hard to get Gizmo to use them. I do NOT want him afraid of doggie steps. My husband is healing nicely. Thanks for the kind words! :) |

That picture is too cute. I bought a tiny ottomon on clearance at target and put it next to the couch and Chloe used to use that to jump up on the couch. I also once bought a stair basket at target, like the type of baskets that sits on 2 steps of a stairway- well guess what? If you flip it upside down and put it next to a couch you have 2 steps for a dog. It worked great! Chloe is big enough now that she can jump on the couch so we dont have anything in thier but I have the ottoman next to my bed so she can get up on it. :) |
That totally made my day! Too Cute! You are clearly a very loving Mommy!:hearts-xx :hearts-xx :hearts-xx :excited: :excited: :excited: |

Very smart! Good ideas! I bought the steps when they were $10 at Walgreens, but now the puppy is bigger so we never use them. |
