Yappy Hour! Woo Hoo! 5 Attachment(s) Well.... I took Tino & Bunny to their first Yappy Hour the other day and they had a blast! I was the proudest Mommy! Everyone came up to meet them and just gushed at how cute the Bunster is and couldnt get over how pretty's Tino's coat is. Bunny even sat still to let me put a bow in her hair!!! I told her we had to get ready bc we were going to a party and there would be a lot of single girls there and if she didnt get all gussied up that Tino might notice some of them! At first it was stimulation overload! They met a retired Ch. Pom named Rosie... she gave Tino the cold shoulder but she was very very excited to meet Bunny. It was good bc it was another girl that could relate to "bad hair days!" They had a lot to talk about! I couldn't hear much bc they were whispering, but I'm hoping she was giving Bunny some pointers! Then there was a little French Papillon named Chloe... she was very "into" Tino, but he gave her the cold shoulder! He is a one woman man and even as much hell as Bunny gives him... it was obvious that he only has eyes for her. Plus, he is probably smart enough to know that he would have paid dearly when we got home if he showed any of those "other girls" as much as a booty sniff! They enjoyed the social scene and noshed some of the cheese & spinach biscuits and doggie daiquiris. They are very aware of their reputations in the doggie community you know...."Never be the last one to leave the party!" is their motto so we came home early! Here are some pics! |
Thats funny!! We need a Yappy Hour!! |
I so love the matching Tie-Dye Shirts - I think your yorkies have a better social life than I do ! |

There are my little God children. They are just soooo adorable:) I couldn't love Diva Bunnys face any more, that expression is priceless!! And Tino, I look at that cute face every morning on my fridge, I never get tired of seeing him. I just want to squeeze them both!!!!! |
Is Yappy Hour what I think it is? Where do I find one? I need a social life that includes my dogs and that looks like sooooo much fun!!! |
Tara - Yappy Hour sounds like so much fun! It looks like you and your babies had a great time. I love the matching tie-dye shirts. Your 2 furbabies look adorable as ever. Thanks for sharing the pics and story with us. You'll have to tell us about the next one ;) |
I'm so jealous...nothing fun like that in my part of NC!!!! |
Nothing happens like that around here either. Looks like so much fun!!! What little cuties you have! |
Here is a brief description of Yappy Hour from the Ashevile Humane Society website..... Our latest Yappy Hour was a tremendous success, raising almost $1,500 for the animal shelter! Cost: Minimum $10.00 donation per person Description: Yappy Hour is a happy hour for dogs and their owners. Dogs from all over beg to come to this event to partake of arf d’oeurves, doggie daiquiris and socialize with best buddies. Parents get to enjoy vegetarian appetizers, drinks and entertainment provided by Get Vocal Entertainment. |
For anyone interested... you should contact your local humane society and speak with them abt starting Yappy Hour in your area. Its held monthly and its a blast!!! Here is the contact info for the Asheville Humane Society. I am sure they would help you with any info you need to put it together for your local shelter! We raised 1500 in only two hours! Yey! 828-253-6807 shelter@ashevillehumane.org |
Yappy Hour sounds like a blast! How many people showed up for this one? So cute that Tino is so loyal to Bunny... :p |
Yappy Hour is a cool idea. I can tell by the pics that you guys had an awesome time. I love Tino and Bunny's hair and dye shirts. They look adorable. Thank you for sharing the pics. I dont know about yappy hour for I found this link for Yorkie meetups. http://yorkie.meetup.com/ |
FE- We stayed for about an hour and a half and I would say that there were at least 60-75 people there when we were there, but it lasted from 5-8 and wehn I called to find out what the overall turnout was, they told me had over 100 dogs! Its just so great bc it is so upbeat and the energy is amazing.. the restaurant donated.. for the $10 cover for the humans (dogs are free) you get two free wine/beer drink tickets and appetizers (this was dontated by the restaurant) and band played for free... that was great bc there was a beagle that sat by the base player and howled over the singer the entire time... there were several vendor booths selling various doggie items... and the best part about it all was that 100% of the proceeds go to the shelter! Marie- I am trying so hard to start a meetup group in Asheville! I am going to try ot get our group going on that site! The Yappy Hour works a little different since its a fundraiser for the shelter. |
Oh my god, your babies are adorable. I love Tino's hair, and Bunny's little face is just precious!! I wish there's something like Yappy Hour around where I live too. It would be great for Cocoa to have more social life. |
Marie- Thank you for posting that link! I went on the site tonight and signed up as the organizer for the Asheville Yorkie MeetUp Group and I emailed the other members so hopefully I can get something started here! Thank you again! :D |
