Yorkie n' Ferrets 3 Attachment(s) I know it looks like Bella is going potty on Willis....That is how she played with him...she would try and sit on him any way she could, especially his head! These are her very first friends and brothers. Murphy the lighter colored one and Willis the darker one. They all loved each other very much and Bella thought she was a ferret too. Funny feeding them treats (i had ferrets first) and thier treats are dried fruits especially dried bananas...Bella beg for them right along witht he ferrets everyone got a kick out of it! |

Oh, how adorable:) My ex's son had a ferret but she was kept only in his bedroom and because that room was always so filthy I never let my puppies in there:( They probably would've tormented the poor thing anyway - LOL! |

4 Attachment(s) That's so funny! I didn't realize a terrier breed dog would be able to "play" with a ferrett. I would think their hunting instinct would come out. But it looks like yours get along great. I guess it's not much different than some dogs being raised with cats and getting along great. I know it's not a ferrett, but I have some adorable old pics of Tatum and her best friend (at the time), Bud........ |
That is sooo cute. And about the hunting instinct in Terriers.....They would be no match for a Ferret. I know it seems weird but ferrets are exceptional hunters/fighters. They have the instint to go for the jugguler lol At first I was soooo cautious almost paranoid that the ferrets would kill Bella....Especially Murphy he is a scrappy thing and would tear my hands up...not willis he is like slow swwet and calm when going for walks didnt need a leash that type. A bird got loose in the pet store and landed in the ferret cage....I have never seen such a horrible site! He was done before anyone could even come close to getting to him.....poor bird. Gosh I am making them out to be bad...they arent I promise. Just for future reference if your fur baby plays with a ferret be careful...They are much more than meets the eye. |

That and the fact that they can stink! I think that with all critters like that (including hamsters) it takes a lot of diligence in keeping them and their bedding, etc. very clean so they don't stink. I still think they're cool though! |
That is too cute! I would love to see them play! We used to have ferrets too and we wondered how they would play together!! I bet its a riot to see them run around together!! |
ferrets are cool Can't lie...they do smell some. A ferret should never be purchased without 2 lil tatoos in their ear 1 means descented, the other spayed/neutered. The do use a litter box, and walk backwards when they need to go potty. The are quite scrappy but like any cat/dog they can be trained. Mine ran to the door when someone knocked came in, they beg for food, they have thier own lil beds they sleep in and are very protective about just like a tiny dog bed or cat bed, they come when you shake their treats or squeak their toys, they hide everything and are remarkable joksters. Great pets in my opinion. Faithful, loving, lick your face in the morning or when you get home like pups and usually love other animals (except birds lol) |

Yes, they should come descented. It is illegal to breed a ferret. There are a few "ferret farms" that all ferrets (should) come from. If a female ferret is not spayed, and she goes into heat and is not impregnated..she can die. |
