well.. let's just say it was our first time! Layla got nipped by the scissors :( and so did i :( she cried... i did not! well here are the pictures... i'm not sure you can see the difference in the before and after.. but i can really tell when i look at her.. especially by her paws...
the first one is before

thanks so much everyone.. i was so nervous.. i think she could feel it... i'll do much better next time.. no one will get cut :)

Layla says to tell Simon that she is blushing :p she sends him kisses back :)

What a darling little face! You did great! That last pic I think she's saying, "Is it time for my treat now?" LOL I always give Maddie a treat after putting her through a grooming!

Color me impressed. I would not even think of trying to groom Britain
myself...she would end up looking diseased I think.....but you did a brilliant job on Layla. She looks just beautiful :)

you know.. iwas SO nervous too (hence we both got a small cut) but i just hated how she behaved once she came back from the groomers and she cried when i left her there.. so this was really my only option and the best part is.. she always ends up the way i want!!! ha.. imagine that :p the best thing i did tho was buy a grooming table.. never would have been able to do it without one and we just went slow!!

yes Layla got TONS Of treats... especially after i cut her :( i think the reason she has that "look" on her face is she is standing next to the treat cupboard :p

awww she looks so cute :animal36 i just did rocky too and i was so scared i actually nipped him though he didnt cry or yelp but i felt so bad

it's funny cause when you cut their hair they look all ruffled but then they feel so much softer when you cut their hair short i think i am going to keep his short for the summer!

OK I am really thinking of trying this on my own. What supplies do you use? I know tou said a grooming table, what kind and where is the best place to get one? What type of clippers, or did you use clippers? How did you know how to do the ears? Do you have a book you bought or anything? Yeah, lots of questions, but honestly I don't know where to begin. Anyone else care to share what they use or how they groom too?

Hey yay join the club of new do-it-yourself groomers!! haha.. ok go to PetEdge.com and there is a very small table for 30 bucks... it is GREAT! i also got a metal comb which helps to use to cut with.. that way i don't cut her.. well still did.. but anyways... and i use a pair of relaly nice scissors... you gotta pay the big bucks for a nice sharp pair of scissors... now last night i didn't do her ears because it was stressful enough just doing it the first time.. but i'll still use the scissors for that too. i don't want to have to use clippers... i don't want to freak her out more than i already did! and oh treats... treats are key :) if you have anymore quesitons keep em coming.. i'm no pro but i'm pro at being new!!!!

I wish you were closer. I'd bring Buddy over because I can't find a

Ill check out all of those items. What if I want to keep her pretty short do
I need to use clippers? Her last grooming she got a shnauzer cut and I loved it.
