My name is Cameo and I'm 8 month old yorkie who lives in Zagreb, Croatia. I live with Orca (rottweiler), Mister (hampster) and Tyson (cat). My passion is hitchhiking...

OMG! I love your Yorkie. What a little stud! He looks like an athlete.

Be sure to watch his pads on those rocks and make sure they don't cut or split. Other than that, he looks like he's having a blast.

Wow, you have some GREAT pictures! That's so awesome that Cameo gets along so well with Orca. Cameo will never have to fear another dog on the trail with Orca around to protect him.

His parents are gorgeous, too. Do you have any plans to show him? Or is he going to be strictly a hiking buddy?

Oh, he is..he likes to go out so much! :doghop: Orca and Cameo now exactly when I'm going out alone:( and when I take them with me:yay_jump: ..so they come to the door, sit waiving their tails and wait for me to put them leashes.
Cameo is soooo happy when we're out..he jumps like a little rabbit walking by Orca and barks all the time. People ask me if he's like that at home too, but at home he just plays a lot and isn't so loud. When we go out for a walk at 7am, the whole neighbourhood knows Cameo is out :yelrotflm

I never thought that the two of them will be such a good companions:cheer: We decided to buy Cameo when Orca was 2 years old because by this time she became a mature, well sociolized and good dog. The first day he came to our home, she already accepted him as a best buddy :coolsmile I think they enjoy eachothers company..eventhough they are so different, they play with eachother so nice. I could watch them the whole day not doing anything :heart48:
Orca only gets involved between Cameo and other dog when the other dog is to pushy with Cameo. In that case, she just comes between them and stands there. It's so funny :tongue5:

Orca is strickly our pet. She wasn't bought from the breeder but from the police officer who had a female dog and decided to have one litter with her..
Cameo was also bought as a pet, but from the breeder. As he grows, our wish to show him also grows. As I have Orca longer, I visited shows very often as an observer and know a lot about mollosers (especially showing rottweilers), but showing yorkies is something new and very different for me so I learn a lot from our breeder and from the internet, visiting shows and watching yorkies in the ring...
Cameo is black and ten and wasn't bought as a show quality dog, but I would like to try showing him. As I read about yorkies, blue end ten yorkies always get better marks. Doesn't matter: we'll go, try, see and have fun ;)
In may (next month) is our first show here in Croatia..we'll let you know how it was :)

Cameo's grandfather looks gorgeous. What great lineage. Be sure to have someone take pictures when you start showing him. I think he'd do great with such good parentage and being in such great shape. I'm sure he'd really stand out. Good luck.

Let me introduce you Cameo's halfbrother (they have the same father, but different mothers) whose name is Dream Fiocco Rosso and also lives in Zagreb. Their birthdays are only 2 days appart :D - Cameo was born on 13.09.2006. and Dream was born on 15.09.2006. Boys like to hang out together...

Cute, cute, cute. Love the rain gear too. Cameo's father must be pretty popular to have litters two days apart!

Here's where you can read more about Cameo's father (our breeder's web page). He didn't have so many litters as it seemes. Our breeder is the owner of him and the two moms of our boys so she decided to have the litters with the girls in the same time.

If obedience doesn't work out for Cameo, you ought to try agility. Or earth dog.

Here in Zagreb we have 3 schools for the dog owners. I would like to continue training in the same school I went with Orca because I'm very satisfied with our trainer and made beautiful friendships there, but he doesn't have all the agility equipment yet. First we'll do the basics and learn everything without a leash and then we'll see where we will train agility.
I'm very interested in agility and I started training it with Orca also just for the fun (her hips are healthy and we took a test for displasya - everything was okay) because rottweilers are havy dogs and don't make such a good results.
I'm just a little bit worried about yorkie's coat and agility because of the long hair. When the coat grows, if we put them in the wrappaper (I hope I said it wright) and in the jacket, it wouldn't be a problem..would it?
Our vet also adviced us that we can go for such a long walks (about 6 miles daily), but not to jump to much or let him climb the stairs while he's a baby...what do you say?
My plan is to start training agility when he'll be about a year and a half old..is it okay?

What is "earth dog"? Can you explain it a little bit please because maybe I just don't recognize the phrase..

Yes, I'd definitely wait until Cameo is a year or more to start agility. You want them to be past their growing stage before you start pounding on their joints. I'm not sure how agility and show would go together. I can't imagine a long-haired Yorkie in agility, but who knows?

I don't fully understand earth dog. It doesn't take place in Alaska, but I've read a little about it. Dogs -- often terriers and schnauzers -- are judged for how well they follow scents through holes in the ground and other obstacles. But again, lol, it's probably not a sport for a long-haired Yorkie!

I think we could participate in agility if I put his hair in wrappaper and in the jacket...that way the hair can't stuck somewhere and won't bother him running and jumping. We'll wait for him to be at least one year old (now he is 8 months old).
Yesterday we became the members of Terrier club and Croatian Kennel Club. Our first show that we'll attend will be CAC on 19th of May 2007 in (Samobor) Croatia in puppy class.
I'll take a look at earthdogs, but what I'm really intereted is agility.

I'd love to see Cameo in agility. As fit as he is, he might do very well, long hair or not.

My guy Eddie is in pretty good shape, but his walks are typically only a couple miles. He does OK in agility. He's smart enough to learn everything, but he's afraid of the noises in the room: the teeter slamming, big dogs running up and down the A frame, etc. He also can be tough to motivate. Sometimes he just goes through the motions.

But it's been fun regardless. He's in his third agility class. I think I'm going to repeat this class because of his problem with the noise, but we hope to compete at a recreational level some day.
