morkie owners help!! hi I don't like flying but it seems like I have to so I'm getting a morkie and I want to fly with her and I want to put her by me on a sit which airlines will let you do that??????????? P.S. she will be about 8 weeks when I get her and when I'm going to travel before christmas and she will be about maybe 12 or 14 weeks then thanks. |
i know jet blue lets you... you have to pay though |
how much do you have to pay??????? |
you do need the propper carrying case, but i think once plane is in the air, they can sit with you.. unless you get mean stuardess |
To my knowledge all airlines that allow pets only allow them in their carrier and under the seat in front of you! I paid $80 one way for a ticket for a floor seat-lol! If you're lucky and the plane is not crowded, if the seat next to you is empty they MAY let you put the carrier in it. |
Northwest allows 6 per plane (2 in first class and 4 in economy) in proper carriers and their fee is $80.00 for a one way ticket. |
i haven't heard of an airline that actually lets you have it on the seat next to you...but only underneath the seat in front of you... good luck with that...and keep us posted! |

I'm assuming the puppy you are getting doesn't exist yet? (For a puppy to be 12-14 wks at Christmas means that the pup will be born in mid Sept/early Oct). If that's the case, then it leaves plenty of time to call/verify which airlines allow travel and what restrictions they may (or may not) have. If you already know which airline you are flying, I'd call customer service to double check. Best of Luck! |
I'm going with jet blue cause there cheaper and have less rules and I can't believe I'm going to be traveling with my pet wow thanks all of you and A special thanks to lexi rae for pointing jet blue out to me. |
I've used Jet Blue before with my Yorkie. I flew from Texas to IL last fall. Remember to get your health cerfiticate too! Pup cannot board without it. You will have to prove you have water for the pup. When I boarded I asked the flight attendent if there were any empty seats, she told me to take my seat and once everyone was on she would come and get me if there were a place I could have a seat for my dog. Sure enough she asked another passenger if they would use my seat - thankfully they were a dog lover and gladly switched. Griffin got to sit on the seat during a portion of the flight. He was such a hit - several ppl felt more animals should fly and reduce stress for those that don't like flying. I think Griffin got more service than the humans on the plane did. :D Best advice: Call ahead, make sure they know you are boarding with a puppy. Show up early, have all necessary paperwork ready so pup can board. Talk to your flight crew - make friends with other passengers while waiting to board (you never know who might be willing to move for you and pup to be more comfortable) and last - just enjoy your new pup!! |
thanks simplyyorkies. |
