My new baby 5 1/2 weeks 3 Attachment(s) Here is my new puppy I will be getting. She is the one on the left and was already 2.1 pounds at 5 1/2 weeks. Can you tell anything by this picture. Does she look big, what kind of coat, how her coloring looks? |
She's so cute! and look at how shiny their coats are! I think you did good! When do you get to bring her home? Congratulations! |
How sweet.........;) So pretty!!! |
Aw, she looks like a bundle of joy! :) |
I don't get her for a few weeks yet but was wondering if you can tell anything yet. She looks big to me and her hair looks silky?? |

She's cute. They change so much from when they're puppies it's hard to tell. Over 2 pounds at 5 1/2 weeks sounds big to me. Lola was that weight at 5 months. She continued to grow slowly until about 10 months old but each yorkie is different. Did you see the parents? That'll tell you more than anyone could ever guess. |
Shes a doll!! :) Over 2lbs at 5 weeks sounds big to me but who knows I think a lot of it has to do with their frame size more than anything!! Congrats! I just got my puppy Yesterday! :p |
Here is a link to a Toy Breed Puppy Growth chart. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16045 You have to scroll down a bit, but then you can see how big she will get! Congratulations! |
Yeah I looked at that and she is off the chart. So I guess she will be bigger than 6 pounds. I just wonder if she isn't chubby because there are only 2 puppies in the litter that the mother had to nurse? |
It could very well be milk fat. I wouldn't worry. Some lines grow quickly then stop. I've had some weigh 5 pounds at 5 months and only gain another 1/2 pound..... |
Awww...what a precious little baby! Congrats! |
Very precious! |
awwww Congratulations! |
Awww she is so cute and looks very healthy. In my honest opinion, I do think she is going to be on the bigger side, especially if she is off the charts now. But then again, most breeders say that you cannot estimate weight before 8 weeks due to the richness of momma's milk. I think your breeder would be your best guide, because she can tell you how the previous puppies ended up. Like some said, maybe they have their growth spurt earlier than later. Best wishes. |
welcome! Welcome & Congratulations!:) Enjoy and treasure every moment with her! |
