hi,
hey everyone at YT! am a new member and i have a pretty little precious lil angel, her name is PRECIOUZ shes everything to me, shes 11 weeks now and i got her last week on 1/26/2007. Shes a very playful little child and she also loves to bite everyone from my family. And am kind of wondering is this is normal for a lil pet like her? can someone please help me!

Congrats!!! Cali was like that she would bite me and when I scolded her she would lunge at me and try and bite me again. I just kept telling her no bite and try and redirect her playing. SHe did grow out of it at about 7 months and is so sweet now.

:welcome4: :welcome4: Welcome to YT!!! And I have never seen a puppy that didn't like to dig their little sharp puppy teeth into anything that will fit into their mouth. Let her know that it hurts by saying ouch!!! But don't be too hard on her, she is a PUPPY!!!! Comes with the territory and is very normal.

And Congratulations on your new little girl!!!

Welcome to YT! Yes it is very normal for puppies to want to bite everything/everyone. The trick is to give them things that they are allowed to chew on. :) Try to have alot of toys for her to play with. They really have a great assortment of things for puppies now. Do you have a Petsmart or Petco nearby? If not there are places to order from online. She's teething and there are a couple of toys for that. I used ice cubes but I guess that's not a wise thing to do. :eek: A few things you could give her are: soft braided fleece ropes, Puppy Kong and carrots. We all advocate buying "natural" chews for our puppies. No rawhides (because they're bleached) and no Greenies! Can't think of much more... I'm sure someone else will drop in and give some more suggestions.

Welcome to YT! Would love to see pics of your new baby:) She's at the age where she's teething and also learning the bite inhibition thing so give her bully sticks and other things to chew on. I also scruffed my baby gently by the neck and said NO when she bit on people and she learned fairly quickly not to do that.

These Little Bundles Of Fun Are So Loveable - Life Would Be Sooooooooooo Dull Without Them - I Cant Bear The Thought Of Not Having Him......................

My Sparky is a real biter. He LOVES chewing on fingers, hands, feet, toes...anything he can grab. I've told him NO and pointed my finger at him and he does the same thing...he lunges at my finger as is to say, "oh yeah?" He is such a terror. But all he has to do is look at me with that beautiful face and I melt. I've told me family to do the approach of yelping like a puppy when he bites hard, but so far that hasn't worked. I absolutely will not allow anyone to pop him, and I'm told I am spoiling him. I must admit he is a "Mommy's boy." But he will outgrow the chewing. But he will NEVER outgrow being "Mommy's boy," I won't let him. Just be patient, they grow up so quick. I've only had my baby for 5 weeks, and I am so very much in love with him.

Try to tell her no when she bites and give her something else to chew on right away. The biting may look cute now, but then she might bite harder and can hurt somebody without her knowing. So it's better to stop in now before it becomes an habit.

so how old is CALI? yeah thats how my yorkie is 2 when i say NO!! and kind of push her she would lunge back at me and bite me more harder! and i would get to mad and i would tell her no preciouz, no!. but she doesnt lisent. well hopefuly she will grow out of hit cause shes so cute to be doing that! please keep in touch, and thanks for taking a while to write me i appreciated u take care

for the welcome! well am coming to find out that is kind of a normal thing for a puppy yorkie! but hopefuly it can go away! cause i wounld want to be mean with her and not love her, shes so cute and playful and just wonderful!

for the welcome! yeah i mean shes as toys to play with, and she does play with them once in a while, but she loves to bite more on ppl! yeah we have a PETCO and PETSMART nearby! we go down there alot to buy stuff for my dads GERMAN SHERPERD! and now am liking to go down there alot, now that i have my pretty lil PRECIOUZ! last time i whent i took some toys home for her but she hardly plays with them.
so you think CARROTS will do it? am going to try the ice cubes for a while and see how that works out, thanks for the great advice.
hey i got another question and i dont know if u might help me but, my yorkie doesnt like going to PUP! outside she loves to go to the bathroom at my room. and i would realy want for her to go to outside and do her business,do u know a great idea?

for the welcome! well you see the thing is that i been trying to download some pictures of my baby but the thing is that it just wont let me or maybe am not doing sumthing right! can u please help me and show me the steps to get a picture up, i would love to share my beautiful puppy with u guys. well i will try alot of different things for her not to keep on bitting me or my parents. thanks for the great advice! take care and please keep in touch thanks

Welcome to YT! I think all these babies do that at a young age .... it's almost as if they are just wanting to play but I have read that some of them don't stop as they mature. Our Toto did that and we simply told her no and at the same time gave her a teether or toy. She quit doing it and also began quickly to learn the invaluable command, "No"! :p Hope you enjoy the forum. ;)

WElcome to YT!! Just be firm with your baby and let her know biting is not good. Hopefully she will outgrow it. My dog I had as a teenager always tried to attack the dates I brought home. I find it funny now Bucky was just trying to tell me that hey they are no good!!lol

Can't wait to see pictures of your baby!!
