Few new pics of Hoku since we brought her home. One with her mom, one sleeping with dad, and two with clothes:)

We are enjoying her so much and most of the time we forget about her heart murmur since she's so active and silly!

I've owned 4 Japanese Chins over the past 16 years and 2 out of 4 had heart murmurs and not the kind that they outgrow. There are better medications (when needed) now, then there were when I had two with bad heart murmurs. I must tell you that both had a great quality of life until the last few months of their lives which were 9 and 10 years. In the Chins this is about the expected normal life span and both outlived my previous Yorkie that passed away at 6 years and was very ill for the last two of those years.
Just enjoy your adorable puppy and don't dwell on the murmur.

Oh my gosh! She is so darn cute I can hardly stand it!!
How lucky you are to have her in your life! She is a very special baby!
I've heard of yorkies living a very long time with heart murmurs and she looks like a strong little girl to me! :thumbup:

Thanks for the words of encouragement, everyone. Most days I don't even think about the murmur and just enjoy her but occasionally it hits me pretty hard and I worry when she cries too long or seems overly tired after playing hard or doesn't seem to eat as much as usual, etc. I think I'm just a nervous mom and things will calm down as she gets older:)

Duke has that same robe ;) However it's WAY too big for him as is everything that I bought in advance. I may be having a yorkie clothing sale or giveaway in the near future !! (depending on if he grows or not, the vet said he probably won't get much bigger ) !

How big do they think Duke will get? Hoku's robe is still way big for her but she has a couple harnesses and sweaters that are not 'girly' that she will outgrow very soon that I could pass on in a bit. Meanwhile, I'm sure others on YT could do an exchange with you:)

She is sooooo cute. I'm glad she is home and doing well. Hopefully the heart murmur won't be any real trouble for you or her ever!!!! Congratulations to you!!

Thank you. She goes in for shots this coming Friday so we'll see how that pesky heart murmur is doing. She is getting fat and sassy and has so much energy so am keeping my fingers crossed:)

The vet said anywhere from 1.5 - maybe 3 lbs max...but she doubts that
