That was a close call!! I'm just amazed that the Moose are just roaming around in suburban areas! Although, I shouldn't be....I once got charged by a Bull (as in boy cow) in my backyard in the middle of the city. Seems he had escaped from the cattle yard that was 2 MILES from my house. I heard clip-clopping outside and thought "oh, someone's riding by on a horse" and went outside to see. He almost got me! I don't think I've ever ran up steps and back into the house so fast. I called 911 ( I didn't know who else to call) and told them there was a bull in my backyard. They said "Good, we are tracking him" and some guys with a tranquilizer gun came by in a truck. He was still in my yard and it took 3 darts to get him down. It was quite an adventure! |
OMG how scarey! How close was this to your house? The picture is awesome, but I can't imagine how you had the presence of mind to take it. Ya' know, there was a REASON why Eddie liked S California:) |
Wow I'm really glad all of you are ok  But the biggest shocker is YOU WERE ON A WALK IN THAT SNOW??? Gosh once the temp gets below 50 degrees here, Coco is s**t out of luck with the walk and she actually prefers it. Once it gets too cold we both just wanna cuddle up on the couch together by the fireplace :D yup we're both lazy :p |
Thanks for the comments! I feel bad for the poor little guy. He stopped barking after about an hour, but when I left for work he was shaking. I had just taken him out of the tub, so I'm hoping it was cold and not fear. Now I'm stuck at work and worrying about him. |

OMG! a moose?!?! and I lived in idaho where I was scared of deer! and never saw a moose that close before. Glad everyone was oky tho. ;) |
Awww...poor Eddie! I'm so glad you, Jack and Eddie are safe and sound, after that horrifying experience. :( ~Marly |
I'm sure you were scared to death, and I'm sure it wasn't a pretty sight for YOU, but that first picture is SO PRETTY!!! Of course you know I am just in love with all of your snow pictures!!! :D Thank GOD you and those furboys are ok!!!   |
I came back for another look at the pictures and even showed my husband - he's from Michigan and I bet he's never been that close to a moose before and he loved the pictures especially of the little Snow Face:) |
holy moly...that would be scary. it looks beautiful where you live |
I LOVE to read Eddie and Jack stories... but WOW, this one was scary! The snow is scary enough for me but add a moose and Im STAYING INSIDE! LOL d |
OMG!! That's freaky!! Thank god you scooped up the boys before anything happened!! And what an AWESOME picture!! Even though you were being chased by a giant moose, you still managed to snap a quick pic -- I love it! :D Gid poor Eddie some kisses from me and my gang. :p |
OMG!! I"ve heard that moose can be very dangerous and aggressive; which totally blows my mind, LOL. It's hard to believe that they've hurt people in Alaska. Anyhow I'm glad to hear that all of you are all right, although a little shaken up. That snow would halt civilization as we know it here in SoCal, LOL! |
OMG... thank goodness you guys are all ok. I bet you were so scared. I just can't imagine see a moose in my back yard. Thats so neat. It looks just beautiful....now that we know you are ok. Poor Eddie.... You will have to get him a moose dog toy so he can practice his defense. lol I guess sometimes we have to remember no matter how beautiful they are they are still wild. Maybe he was just running towards you to tell you Merry Christmas...lol Glad you are all safe and inside!!!!!!!! Probably a good thing that Jack didnt see it. I sure hope we have snow here in Indiana for Christmas. It just don't seem like Christmas without it. |
OMG what a beautiful picture! My sister and bnl used to live in Alaska when he was in the Air Force (actually there in Anchorage). They loved it and now say that when their kids leave home they would actually love to move back. I have heard of them talk about a moose that was collared that ran loose and you had to watch out for him because he was very aggressive and they called him number 7 or something like that. Have you heard of it? Of course that was like 14 years ago now. |
OMG!!! I think I would have passed out on the snow, especially when I am a city girl, who has never seen a moose up that close. Poor babies they must have been thinking, what in the world is that big thing. Now, cool story, but thank God you and the the furbabies are safe. |
