Coooooolllldddd Day Videos If was 14 degrees F today, minus 2 with windchill, and Eddie and Jack still braved their morning walk and finished no worse for wear. Here are six vids whose best quality is they are short. :) And no making fun of my huffing and puffing! I'm not as young as I used to be. http://www.dropshots.com/day.php?use...3&ctime=131508 |
Move over Rudolph!! I wish your babies were the ones pulling Santa's sleigh this year!! Well not really pulling it but pretending to do so cause................. They are just gorgeous!!!!! :) |
You, Eddie, and Jack can keep the snow....it looks like you enjoy it. Meanwhile, Sadie & I will think about y'all during our 65 degree walks like today. (I admit...I feel slightly bad when I complain about having to go outside with her & walk on days when it gets below 50) (I'm soooo not a cold weather person) |

Great videos Mike the boys look great plus they are having a great time! |
Beautiful boys and beautiful scenery! I love your pics and videos! |
aww how cute!!! They must really love the snow! My pups wouldn't take a step outside if its not sunny lol |
LOL, Looks really cold out there Mike! Oh great videos too, (but you already knew that;) ) |
Somehow you make all that snow look inviting...I could watch your boys all day! |
14 degrees...-2 windchill...and you had those boys outside? I'm sure that qualifies as abuse of some kind. Now...who's gonna go up there and rescue those babies?? ;) |
That was fun! Thanks for sharing the video's. I love how you treat the boys, and offer them lots of treats on a cold walk :D After her first winter in Wisconsin, Trixie is sure enjoying the rain on the West Coast ;) |
Great vids I heard on the news it was cold in Alaska. I thought about you. Didn't think you would take Jack and Eddie out in the cold, but looks like they didn't know the difference. By the way, how long did it take you to get those boys used to the booties? We have some cold spells here in Colorado and I wouldn't mind Shylah and Starsky getting a pair of those. Starsky loves the snow when it snows here. He runs and runs in it. Shylah on the other hand is kind of a sissy. |

And TeddyBear, it took about a week of daily bootieing (get your minds out of the gutter!), for Eddie to walk on them without lifting them up awkwardly. Each day, I plied him with treats to walk a little farther. Finally, he gave up. He doesn't necessarily like them, and I often have to chase him down in the house to get them on, but once outside he runs like he doesn't even have them on. It took Jack longer to get used to them, but that was understandable because he was also recovering from surgery. This year, he's had no problem with them. In fact, he puts up with them better than Eddie does. |
Your boys are so cute! My son came and had to watch the video clips with me. Thank you for sharing with us! |
Thanks, everyone, for the comments. You are all sissies, though! Snow is FUN![/QUOTE] Yeah, I do agree that the snow IS fun...it's the COLD that's the difficult part!! :p Just got Topher his first set of boots so he's all ready for the snow. I just hope the jacket I have for him will be warm enough. Do you find the polar fleece to be the best? Does it cut the wind enough? It's his first full winter so I guess it'll be trial and error with the clothes. |
those videos were sooo cute !! Brownie would love to be running with your boys all of mine LOVE the snow !! |

But.......snow is cold and wet! |
You are so right about the boots. The first pair I bought were the best I could find...they had hard bottoms, though and they took about 20 minutes a boot to put on! Boy, did he ever have a heck of a time walking in them. I knew that because they were so complicated, that we wouldn't use them so we bought the less expensive ones and he LOVES them. They are so easy to put on and they must be comfy 'cause he didn't complain a bit nor did he try to pull them off. Success!! Hopefully the'll be able to stay on for the length of the walk. Do you have trouble with them getting loose and falling off? (sorry for all of the questions!) |
Eddie and Jack are such an inspiration! We've been lucky so far here, no snow yet, but when it gets here I would like to be prepared. Found a set of simple boots at PetValu yesterday, and just now put them on Ginger and had her walk across the room to me for treats! Poor thing, she was trying to hard not to walk on her feet the first time across that she literally flipped herself onto her back:rolleyes: By the fourth time across the room she was just doing some basic high stepping. We'll do this for a few minutes each day, hopefully by the time the snow gets here she'll be used to them! Seeing Eddie and Jack run around in their boots makes me believe she'll work it out! BTW, you also inspire me not to complain, but to bundle up and get her out there!!! |
