Cleo's New Dress 1 Attachment(s) Don't laugh too much. This is the second one that I made her. I still need some work but I think it still looks a little cute. The colors look good on her.... |
very cute, and if you don't mind me asking where did you get your pattern? |
That is the sad thing & why I am a little self conscious about it. I got it in my head. I started looking at dresses. Then remembered that my grandma made me raggied (sp) Ann and Andy. I went up to the attic and found them. Stole her apron and tried it on Cleo. It actually fit. So I used that as a guide. So it has spaghetti straps and velcros on the stomach. I will take a pic of it laying down. Very easy to make. A band for the stomach, 2 straps, and a skirt. I made another one first and kinda like it better. I will take a pic of it too. The only thing I don't like about them is the skirt, I think it should go around the belly more. I will try again when these brats are sleeping. |
Good job, Mom! And what a patient little girl Cleo is! Toto would be outta that dress in a flash! My little girl is quite the little exhibitionist! ;) |
You did a great job! I wish I could sew! Little Cleo is a pretty model:) |
2 Attachment(s) Okay, Here are pictures without the pretty model. I think the next one I make will be a square skirt. We will see how that works. I wanted a rounded skirt but I can't seem to sew a half circle. Anyway, I made them adjustable, well if you don't mind ripping the seams out later and resewing them. I am soooo cheap (LOL) I paid a whopping 50 cents for the material for the first dress. I splerged on the second one and paid 2.16. Look at Wal-Mart under the counter where they cut the fabric. At my Wal-Mart they have scraps of material dirt cheap. One I paid 25 cents for. The ones that I paid 2.00 for were 1/2 a yard. It don't take much when they are little. Anyway, thanks for the comments. My husband said you should sell them and I just started laughing. I am no seamstress and I see alot wrong with them. He is so sweet or blind one. |
Those dresses are darling and so is Cleo! You are so creative! Good job! |
Wow, I think you did great!!! I would only suggest that maybe you make the apron part a little shorter for a different look. I love the material you picked out! Good job! |

How much shorter? It comes right before her tail now? Thanks for the suggestions. I can use all you can give. |
I don't know really, but I was just looking at it and thought it would look really cute if it was about half as long. But, that is just a thought for a different look. I love it the way it is too. I think I should get a sewing machine. This looks like fun! I can't believe you made your own pattern...that is so good! |
YES!!! A mini-skirt!!! Wouldn't that be darling? My two yorkies would stand for that about 30 seconds. They like being naked! |
I had to ask cuz I made my own pattern too. I think your is much cuter though. (I don't know how to sew it was my fisrt ever attemp and probably my last). If you would like to see pics I'll add them. |
Cleo's New Dress I found this site for some free patterns for our babies. Here is the website. http://sewing.circleofcrafters.com/f...sspattern.html |
