Walking your yorkie I was told by my breeder and my vet that I should not allow Hershey to walk where other dogs have walked because he has to get his 2nd and 3rd set of shots. I try to pratice walking him around the house with his leash but he refusing to walk. He is 10 weeks old. Is that normal? |
I'd say it's pretty normal! Maddie did that when I first tried the leash...she was very stubborn and would put on her brakes and refuse to move! LOL Eventually she got the hang of it and loves it when I get the leash out! |
Dougal just pouts! He's a world class pouter. If it's raining outside and I take him out to do his business you should see his face. Dixie gets angry. When she's frustrated she'll "be a bull". She kicks her hind legs out behind her and goes "GrrrrRRRRRrrrrrrRRRRRRrrrrrRRRRrrrr" - just so you know she's talking to YOU!:D |
My yorkie does that too! I'll be walking her and she just stops and I have to drag her! but ofcourse I pick her up which I think was her plan all along;) |

My little boy is 10 months old and JUST now started to like to walk. My little girl is 9 months old and hates to walk. I usually try to get her to go with us but end up carrying her back  |
My boys were TERRIFIED of their harnesses when I first tried to put them on them. BUT, once they realized the harness meant they were going outside.... well lets just say I have to fight them off when I get the harnesses out! They both fight over who will get theirs on first. They both sit perfectly still for me to put them on! Its really funny!! |
Gracie took to her leash after about one day, she was just 8 weeks old. You might try just letting your baby drag the leash around with it attached to the harness until he gets comfortable with it. Lots of praise helps too! |
Walks without leash !! Bogey is 10 mths old & he walks outside the house without his leash. He knows where to go & when you call him, he comes. When you tell him inside, he comes up the steps to be let in. He loves to be outside but he knows where & when !! |
