I Got My Baby Today!!

His name is Harley and he is 8 weeks old. Sooo sweet. I have his big crate set up with bed and toys on 1 end and potty on the other. My thing is.... he loves loves loves his crate???? All I ever heard was how the pups whine and hate being in there at first and mine dont want OUT?? Well he has come out some and played and he did eat pretty good too. He just has been sleeping alot and lets me know when he wants to get back in there so he can lay down.... does this sound normal for his age??:confused: Is it because he is really young and needs his sleep?
I'm anxious to see how he will do tonite at bed time.

Oh and he loves his snuggle puppy pal thing I got him... and I havent even turned it on yet....

puppies need LOTS of naps, especially since they'll get worked up and excited playing with you guys.....ours used to nap all of the time, and in their crate too!

Congratulations! I wish you many long happy years with your new best friend. He may sleep a lot now, but there may come a day when you wonder if he ever sleeps! Sounds like you're doing an excellent job of getting him settled in to his new home. He's just too precious for words.

Harley is so cute! Cali loved her playpen from day one and still goes in it when she wants a nap or to get away from people. Just make sure he is eating enough and often so that he doesn't go hypoglycemic. Nutrical will also help.

Oh my Gosh he is so cute! Congrats! He sounds pretty normal to me....eat and play a little and sleep. Im sure he will be good at bedtime..Bella would not sleep in her crate when I got her so I just put her and Louie in the bed with me and that is how it has stayed. I wouldnt have it any other way now...they are so cute and cuddley...by the way the second picture shows him kissing what I guess is your daughter he certainly seems very happy and content!

He is just adorable! The first few days I had Gracie home, all she wanted to do was sleep. She would cry every time I left the room. She was just 8 weeks old. After that, she perked up and her true personality came out. It's a major adjustment. Let him adjust in his own time and in his own way. Should he not want to eat, give him some Nutrical Gracie eats that right out of the tube! Enjoy your new baby!

Well, Duhhhhhh, Mom!!! With all that neat stuff in my pen, I wouldn't want to come out either!!! :yelrotflm :yelrotflm :yelrotflm Good job!!! Your little Harley is adorable and you have been studying! That's exactly the way we had Toto set up and she loved it too! She still [at three years] has her set up like that and if she needs her "safe place" she just runs to her pen and looks at us like "quick, close my door"!! ;) Can't wait to see more pics and hear all about little Harley's progress!! ;)

Congrats on your new little boy!! Layla is 6 1/2 months and she still sleeps a lot! they are such tiny little guys that playing for an hour just wears them out! they need power naps so they will be ready to go! Enjoy him :)
