The Adventures of Bonnie Prince Charlie! 4 Attachment(s) Hey guys - day 1 of little Charlie being part of the PBJ (yes, Peanut Butter & Jelly!) Gang has started off on a strong positive note! After a long walk before bed, Charlie settled down into his new crate for the night. He gave a quick whimper - until he realized that he was sitting right on the bedside table next to new mommy, and lay down for the night. Roxy decided that roll call was at 6:15 am this morning and the troops moved out for the first maneuvers of the morning. Charlie was a little unsure at first and clung to the back door. His mommy slipped a leash on him and walked him around to help him gain some confidence. This seemed to work and he quickly was on his way to exploring the lay of the land. He's already picked his favorite bush and frequents often as he doubles back on his tracks. Charlie is exhibiting some modesty too and has established his outhouse behind a big bush when he has serious matters to attend to. After Charlie's mommy took her morning 3 mile run, he went for a long walk with his two new sisters and a 3 month old labradoodle who belongs to his mommy's best friend. Buck the labradoodle is in love with Ruby but this didn't seem to bother Charlie in the least. While Ruby raced around like a mad hare with Buck desperate to keep up, Charlie explored the local park with Roxy. When Buck was good and tired Charlie had a gentle play with Buck and a budding friendship was formed. Charlie has adapted well to his new x-pen and is happily watching every move his mommy makes in the kitchen. In fact, he is watching so intently that I think he'll be able to make pancakes all by himself tomorrow if we let him use the cooker! [Yes, my daughter is making breakfast for both of us - it's debatable whether this is a thank you for taking in Charlie or because its preferable to eating something I cooked!] Here are a few pics this morning. (excuse his morning "do" but we needed a quick solution to help him see where he was going!) 1. Charlie as bonnie as ever 2. Coming from his outhouse! 3. Getting a report from Piper the lookout 4. Charlie meets Buck All in all - it's been a great start to a wonderful day! |
This is wonderful! You take such wonderful pictures, too! Today we put up the picture molding (to display all the beautiful B/W photos of her cats and now new Charlie!) and finish some of the raised stencil work! |

Yes, how is Charlie today??? |
Day 2 Update 4 Attachment(s) Getting close to the end of day 2 - and WOW - this guy really is a sweetheart! He is starting to come out of his shell and show us all his little quirks! Nothing we can't handle. Charlie has asked his mommy if he can post a little message about what he's been up to, so a little later tonight please check back as he will be able to do this right before bedtime. Today's big event was a much needed day at the spa! Charlie's new mommy has been working diligently on getting all his mats out and they allowed me to snip the last few remaining ones from under his belly so that we could get him a bath. While not excited with his bath Charlie was well behaved but something must have felt good to him afterwards (maybe he likes smelling like rose petals) because any remaining shell he was hiding in POPED OPEN and he came completely to life. As soon as Roxy and Ruby had their spa appointment - HE COULDN'T TAKE HIS EYES OFF THEM! At the moment I am calling him "Little Mr. M&M" as he is completely focused on mounting and marking! Please all keep him in your thoughts as tomorrow at 8:00 am he goes into the vets to be neutered and has some much needed dental work! Here are a couple photos: 1. Before Charlie's spa appointment 2. After his bath 3. Smile Charlie! Getting a blow dry & set 4. Introducing a very Bonnie Prince Charlie |
Spa Day Group Shot 1 Attachment(s) Here they all are! |

A message from Charlie Hello... I'm Nor... I mean Charlie! :wavey: I 'member dat's my name now and I even have started to respond to it...it's easy 'cause my beu t full new mummy calls me that all the time and when I look at her she gives me a treat! I tink I'm gonna like it here. I got lots of new sisters and a big bro...oh and can't forget dat silly bunch of cats. I've been sooooooooooooo busy dat I sleep weelie good each night. Ders a lot a rules here but I'm trying to get the hang of it. Everyone has to listen to "The Boss Lady". My sisters and big bro call her mummy but I like my mummy better - but I still listen weelie good ta her cause Ruby told me da Boss Lady makes the rules! Sometimes Ruby is a know it all.:p Yesterday was sooo much fun. I went for lots of walks :dogwalk: and played with my new friend Buck. He is a labradoodle but he is only a baby. :doghop: I boss him cause I'm older. Buck tinks stinky Ruby is cute. (oh boy!) Last night I got to have sooooooooo much fun! My new mummy is weelie coooool! She runs fast and competes in races with other twolegs. I got to go to a weelie nice park where she had a big race to run. There were lots of nice twolegs and Ruby knows everyone! I guess cause she and Roxy go to lots of races they meet everyone - 'cept Roxy is a bit more like me and waits for twolegs to come up and say hello. Ruby just goes up and butts her face into everyone elses business. I guess its ok 'cause everyone was calling her name and saying hello and then they got to meet me. I liked that.:hearts6: After my mummy ran weelie fast I got to walk in the river with Ruby, Roxy and Buck. Ruby wanted me to play her favorite game but I just didn't tink it looked fun. Ruby is silly. She puts her face in the water and pulls out dis creepy thing called a crayfish so she can play with it. Roxy and me tink thats yucky. Roxy doesn't like when Ruby plays dis game and cries. I stayed with her on the rocks. I want to be a good big brother (sometimes). THEN I got to be weelie special! My mummy ran sooooooo fast that she got to go to the front of all the big pack of twolegs and get a prize when they called her name. She was the first one in her age group and I got to walk up with her. Everyone clapped for me 'cause I'm sooooo special! Ruby told me that I have a big head!:tongue5: Today was fun tooo. I couldn't believe it when I woke up and I was still here! We played outside in the morning and Buck came to play in the afternoon... and OH... I forgot...they have a stupid thing called spa day here...and dat was TODAY! I don't like spa day much but Roxy and even stinky Ruby look weelie purty.:2cute: Da Boss Lady is calling me "little Mr. M&M" 'cause I keep breaking two of the rules. Hmmm I tink they are: 1. No Mounting (not sure what that is but sometimes I jump up and down on Roxy and Ruby's head...but only now that they smell like roses) 2. No Marking (silly Boss Lady I can't weelie do this 'cause she put this dump band on my belly.) The Boss Lady told me that tomorrow I have to go to the Dogtor and stay there for 1 night but that I will be coming back furever on Saturday. I have to have some work on my teeth to make my smile pretty and a little "snip" so she won't call me Mr. M&M anymore. I'm a little scared :wavecry: but I guess if my mummy tinks I need to do this - ok. Please all pray for me. I love my furever home and I want to come back and boss silly Ruby around. I better go to bed now because I have to get up early tomorrow!:bed_time: Love ya YT - big yorkie kisses:iheartu: Charlie |
:lol tears :lol tears :lol tears Oh, Charlie! I'm laughing, I'm crying! I just love hearing your adventures! You're quite the little story teller!!!! |
Oh! Charlie, I'm so glad to see you having sooooo much fun at your new home with your new family. You've really got it made now! However, I'm really sorry you have to go to the dogtor, but I'm sure everything will be OK. Besides, your breath will be sweet and I'm certain you'll get lots more kisses!:D I'll be praying for you tomorrow and don't worry, Charlie, you'll get to go back to your new home and family on Saturday. |
Wow Charlie...you are so beautiful! I'm so glad you found a new, loving...forever home!! |

WOW! You have had quite the adventures:) So glad that "da boss lady" is sharing your life with us and that she let you post a message as well! Sending lots of hugs and prayers your way for the big "snip" today! |
Charlie's at the Vet 3 Attachment(s) Well almost time to call and check on how Charlie did after his little "snip". It's been a long day already and I honestly didn't think I'd feel so torn about leaving him at the vet this morning but when the vet tech took him from my daughter's arms and he whimpered... I confess...little wet eyes! I had another set of blood work ordered this morning for Charlie before they put him under as a precaution. I was out at the vet last night with Piper and it looks like she has "the slobbers". This is something that horses (and some dogs) get this time of year from eating grass with bacteria growth on it from the humidity. A couple of shots and some Benedryl and she is doing fine. I just wanted to be doublely sure that Charlie was ok in the off chance that Piper really has something else (I doubt it but I was nervous for the little man!) I'm counting on the little "snip" helping him stop mounting everything. I probably don't have to worry though as it is all a dominance thing and not sexual in anyway. Miss Ruby has already taken matters into her own hands and restored the pecking order all before breakfast this morning! Here are a couple of photos my daughter took of Charlie attempting to dominate Ruby and her reaction...or should I say Charlie's reaction. Little Roxy was an instigator in all of this and was standing on the back of a chair cheering Ruby on. 1. Ruby refuses to stand still for Charlie 2. Charlie runs for cover (check out Ruby's head position!) 3. Charlie surrenders! More later when we hear how he is doing! |
Those pictures are hilarious! Charlie's first lesson!:D Wishing him the best and I hope Piper does well, too, after the shots. |
