Meet Diamond

I am new to YorkieTalk and wanted to introduce Diamond. I got Diamond back in March and she was only 2 months then. She was flown in from Oklahoma from a breeder and she arrived in Norfolk, VA. She was shaking a lot when I first got her but calmed down shortly after.

She was born in January so she is just about 6 months. I love her to death and I almost lost her when she had a hypoglycemic crisis in March and was hospitalized for almost 48 hours. That was very scary for both of us. I am lucky to have her.

She is just about 2 pounds and I have to get her spayed in July...hopefully she will breeze through it!

Hello There Diamond
We live in Chesapeake, Va...right around the corner. I have two boys Remmy & our newest addition Chance. I have attached pics of Both. Your little Girls is sooo cute. 1st pic is Remmy 2nd Pic is Chance. Welcome

She's precious her and Summer are about the same age. I think she is a little bit smaller than Summer. Summer will be 6 months this friday and weighs between 2.5 and 3 pounds I would guess. I'm not sure. I think she is adorable. I really like her name too.

In the top left hand corner in the blue bar. Then go to edit advatar and download a picture.

What a pretty little girl you have...Lady is about the same age, she was also born in January...Shes a lot bigger though...lol shes almost 6 lbs...

I had to go back and take another look at Diamond, she is quite a looker so you have to post more pictures of her. Diamond is just so adorable! I just want to hug her. Give her lots of kisses for me.

hi i am tammy and i live in RICHMOND virginia and i have two yorkies (kinda) Remmie is my 5 month old Yorkie and little girl is my almost 4 years old yorkie-pomeranian mix

Lauren, Diamond is indeed so precious . .so you named her well. But why are you rushing to spay her. She is very tiny so I wonder if you would wait until she is a bit older and can gain a little more pounds. Of course, I am no expert but she is just so tiny to go into surgery :rolleyes: There is a thread somewhere on this forum that says it is okay to get them fixed at a later time . . .I should try and find it . . .

Thanks Des. Her mom's name was Jewel so all of the babies names are Emerald, Diamond, Ruby, and Sapphire. I got Diamond :) It was pure luck, I get SO many compliments on her when I take her outside.

In July, she will be 6 months and the vet recommended that I get her spayed by 6 months. She warned me that she could go into heat if I waited longer...is that true? She is so small though for surgery! The breeder also left a duclaw on her back leg so I was going to have that removed since it's not safe and can get caught on things. The breeder said she didn't even see it because of all the hair back there!

Nice to see some other locals! I am really from South Jersey, I am only here for business (six months). I was so lonely that I decided to get a puppy!

Most vets, if not all, always recommend they get it early. . . .let me first find the thread and then you can decide for yourself if you want to wait a bit longer. As for her going into heat, that should not be a problem . . .especially since there are no male dogs in your house :D

:D :D She will go into heat as all female dogs do, unless they are fixed. But, since you don't have any male dogs, no worry about her getting pregnant
