Dolce's Vacation

We took Dolce on her first vacation up the coast to Mendocino.

In the first pic, you can see how much fun she had hanging her head out the window and letting her hair blow like a crazy lady in the wind. I think that is my most favorite picture of her ever!

The second pic is her modeling a dress that I found in this little pet botique they had. It even has a hook for her leash, which I LOVE.

The third pic is her first time on the beach.

And the fourth is after her bold dive into the ocean!

We had such a vacation and stayed at a pet friendly B&B. It was SO fun to be able to travel with her!

Wow that first picture is classic! LoL! It's soooo great! Looks like Dolce had a great time. Did she like the salt water? Schatzi's not too fond of it... :rolleyes:

How was she on the beach? Diamond is as low as the sand sits so it ends up getting all over her!

Dolce did ok in the water. She just jumped in and I don't think she knew what was going on because she's never been IN a body of water...I just bathe her under the faucet. She jumped out pretty quickly and that was enough for her!

And yea....she was getting quite a bit of sand in her fur even when she was dry (since they are so little and are RIGHT on the ground), but she was an ABSOLUTE mess after she got wet! Everything stuck to her then!

Sand or no sand, she's still a little beauty. Happy to hear you had a wonderful time with your little furbaby. We take Piper camping, which he enjoys, but haven't had him to the beach yet.

Thank you! :) Do you go camping in the mountains? My boyfriend and I just bought a tent with a "pet den" and want to go on a few trips this summer. He has a large dog that I know will be ok and I want to bring Dolce, but wasn't sure how she'd do. We'll probably go on a couple hikes and that might be too much for her and I don't really want to leave her in the tent. I thought about getting a front carrier for her (they have cute ones at Target). What do you do? Have any tips??

Piper has never gone hikng. When we take him it is usually to a campground that has ammenities, such as a pool, mini-golf, ice cream shop...so he hasn't had to "rough it." But he does sleep in the tent with us in his p.j.s we bought him to keep him warm at night. I need to order a larger size for our upcoming trips since he's grown, but all-in-all it's just a laid back time for us and him and his Chi sister. Our Boxer actually gets boarded, it's harder to take him along since there isn't room in the vehicle for us, all our stuff, and a Boxer...we feel bad about that, but the little ones do go. When you do go, enjoy yourselves and if you are going to be hiking a lot maybe the carrier would be a good investment. Enjoy!
