My 1st Yorkie!!! Hey everyone. I just wanted to tell ya'll that I am getting my yorkie this weekend!!! She will be 6 weeks then. I had orignially called the owner/breeder in FEB. looking at a boy. But then mom said that she will NOT have a male in her house hiking his leg up on her furniture so I had to get a female. SO it turns out the lady had a litter due in March. So we called in March and the mommy had problems delivering and had to get a sea section a lost a baby and only one pup made it...and gues what.. it was a girl!!! So i've been waiting for my lil cutie to grow up and now shes coming home this weekend!!! I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO EXICTED!!!! I'm like going crazy over here!! But anywho, she is a lil fatty b/c shes the only one getting milk. Her mom and dad are both 4 pds. and i'm hoping she'll be the same. I've already decided I'm going to call her Muffy. heehee. But I'm trying to come up w/ a name to register her with...any ideas??? But yea. just wanted to tell u that i'll have my baby soon! I'l post pics as soon as she's here!!! |
How exciting, bet you'll have a hard time sleeping til then LOL Can't wait to see the photos, oh and love the name muffy |
Congrats, Can't wait to see the photos |
Happy days are heading your way and you will have Muffy to kiss and hug on. 6 weeks is so very young to be receiving a Yorkie fur baby - do you know how much she weighs now? Most Yorkie breeders do not release their babies until atleast 12 weeks so I was just curious. Learn as much as you can to keep her healthy and congrats to you both! |
Schatzie, I'm glad you asked that. I was wondering the same thing. I thought six weeks was too young for any puppy and it sounds like the puppy is tiny since both parents are only four pounds. YorkieLove, I hope you don't take this wrong. We just want the best for you and your puppy. Congratulations, Muffy is a cute name. :) |
Congratulations! That is very exciting. I hope your breeder will talk to you about hypoglycemia, especially if she is under 2 lbs, if not make sure to read up on it and how to treat it. Will you be able to be home with her full time for a few weeks? |
I am so happy for you...nothing sweeter than a little yorkie puppy! |
Congrats on ur new baby its so exciting huh... ask ur breeder for a puppy starter kit coz 6 weeks is still very very young and she sounds like she could be very tiny, these little ones need to be watched 24/7 i hope there is someone at home with her during the day? We cant wait to see her pics :) Let us know what her weight is also, if u have any questions i know theres fabulous people on this board that are very willing to guid u along ;) |
How exciting for you! :) I'm glad you are getting your baby. I too am a little worried about the age thing. I'm sure you will be a great mommy :) |
Hey ya'll thanks for repling!!! Yes, my mom will be home with her when I am at school and will be with her the whole time I am home. PLus, she is only aloud to be in my room until she gets bigger. Oh, and about the age, she is very healthy right now and FAT!!! So she's not as tiny and fragile as some becuz she is the only pup and shes getting a big ole tummy on her. As for the weight I am not sure but I'll tell u as soon as I find out. I totally trust this lady with her dogs and i dont think she is doin me wrong. She's an older lady that really loves her dogs. She totally spoils them. SHe has runs for them outside that are in a building with there own little fans and heat lamps. She even has pics hanging up for them!! But yea, thanks again for all the replies and thanks in advance for more! ( 5 more days!!!) |
Congrats on your upcoming arrival!! Be sure to schedule a vet appointment for a day or two after you get your baby so she can have a thorough checkup and that way you'll know she's healthy. Also find out if she has been wormed, started on puppy shots, etc. by the breeder. Good luck! Post pix when you can. |
Hey! Thanks for the concern. THe breeder is suppose to be taking her this week to get all her shots done and everything...I'M SO EXCITED!!! |
