moe 4 Attachment(s) I have always wanted a Yorkie since meeting my in laws older Yorkie Dougal, he was 16 when he finally passed. This past Christmas, for some odd reason I was set on wanting my Yorkie. It was odd because financially we really couldn't afford to get one, we already had 10 rescue pets and I was due for surgery in feb.I don't know why, I just had to get my yorkie, and there was no changing my mind.I searched around for one to rescue, but there were no rescues available in a 100 mile area of our home, so then I went to looking in the paper.I called a local breeder who had advertised her pups at £400 each, thats about $750.She told me hers were all gone, but she knew a reputable breeder who had died, leaving her husband with the latest litter. He had recently had a stroke and was in hospital not expected to live, and a breeder friend was in charge of getting homes for the 3 pups.I called this lady and she only had one boy left, and I was wanting a girl ....but then that nagging voice told me, have a peek.So we arranged to go see him, and it was Love at first sight, boy , girl, didn't matter, his personality won me.I also knew it was up to me to "rescue" him, as here was this little puppy with red ears, so swollen his eyes bulged out, a raspy chest and a bloated belly.I knew the lady wasn't being honest, and that this was a farmed dog, but I didn't care, he needed me, as the lady who had him was saying how fit as a fiddle he was, and it was plain to anyone with eyes he wasn't.Anyways, we got him better and I Love him to bits! |
2 Attachment(s) All your babies are precious!! Here's my story: I wasnt even planning on getting a puppy..yorkie or any breed. My boyfriend's mom had a male and a female and she had tried breeding them once or twice before and it didn't happen. Well, around November of last year, Travis told me that she was going to try again soon. I had been looking at Yorkies on the internet and kept telling him how much I wanted a puppy. Well, he talked to his mom and she said that I could have one and I'd get the pick of the litter!! But at this point, she wasnt sure that her girl had gotten pregnant..so December comes around and then January and Momma starts to get big! I was sooo excited and it felt that I had waited FOREVER and I wasnt even sure about it yet! Then on February 19th, I get a phone call sayin we have babies! I went over six days later and saw them..twin girls and one big boy..I told her that Id let her choose for me, but she knew I wanted a girl. So I got the little runt, but the one with the biggest attitude! I held her so long that first time that she pooped and peed on me shirt! Of course I thought it was adorable ;) She's my fiesty little lover and I cant imagine her not being here! Even though she kinda just fell in my lap! |

3 Attachment(s) I had been wanting a yorkie for a very long time, and December 2 years ago we contacted a breeder through the Netherlands Yorkie Club. We called her and told her about ourselves and told her we wanted a little girl. Well needless to say she had no pups left from the litter but was planning on breeding again the following year. A year later the litter came but no girls. So would we wait for the next breeding. She was going to be breeding one of her bitches to her champion male.February 18th (2 days before my birthday we got the call, the litter was born, 2 males 1 female and the female was ours if we were still interested.Of course I was interested, from the very first picture we received We fell in love, we knew she was the one. So on Good Friday we drove from Amsterdam to Naaldwijk to get our little girl. The first time I held her my heart just melted. Very much worth the long wait. The last picture is of her father. 3 Attachment(s) Jewel was a gift to my husband Dan from his boss. All Dan talked about was our 5 year old Yorkie Jazzie. Seeing how attached he was to Jazzie, Dan's boss was getting worried about Dan falling apart when it was time for Jazzie to pass away. So one day while Dan was at work with Jazzie, she came trotting around his desk with a bow and an envelope around her neck. In the envelope was a card that said "Daddy, Please get me a baby sister" with enough cash to do just that. After searching for the baby sister, we found Jewel's family. Jewel took to Dan immediately leaving her littermates behind and decided he was her personal toy! That's all it took for him to fall head over heals for her. They had a very special bond and love for each other. As many of you know, Jewel became ill shortly after her 2nd birthday and passed away shortly after her 3rd. She made a huge impact on our lives and we are so grateful we were chosen to care for her. God knew what he wanted Jewel to do and did she ever do her job well! So here is Jewel on her first day home with the Yorks! Can you see she was a little bundle of T-R-O-U-B-L-E? |

here is my story. kept telling husband for 2 years i wanted a yorkie. he said "no way, too small" on vacation in france we saw a farm and we stopped in they just had had a couple of puppies. the woman showed us one and i wasnt into him, then another and i didnt really feel a connection with her. then she said she had a really tiny one. she got him out. it was something i never felt before. his eyes were closed and then he looked at me and i asked him "do you want to come home with us?" and he put his paw on my lips, then did it again on my nose.... i even have the picture. so we put down a deposit. unfortuantely he needed to be at least 6 months do to a quarentene (england doesnt let animals come in unless they have completed a series of shots that take 6 months. so every other month we went to see him. spent christmas with him, my birthday and we bonded more and more. all those months i kept preparing for his arrival with clothes and treats. and the kennel would send me photos of him every month. finally last month we picked him up... i dont regret it at all, it was love at first signt for sure!!:animal36 |
