snickers started biting/nipping at 12wks and has been steadily doing it since... but we are working on it my vet yesterday (who has a terrier) said that terriers in general are a mouthy breed but v easily trained and not typically aggressive - i guess we just hafta establish ourselves as the "alpha dog" holding them on their back and getting them to calm down and let you do it puts them in a submissive position and grabbing the muzzle firmly and sat "no bite" then hold ur hand out and say "kisses" and if/when she kisses you reward her like crazy i havent tried this myself so no guarentees but something to try :) good luck |
 Thanks for the information and yes I guess we do. I will try that because everything else I tried she just think I am still playing with her lol. :p Ill post an update once I have been successful. Take care and hope you are to.  Babe Girl & Mommy   Quote:

Gucci used to be a biter when she was a puppy. I think all terriers are. You can put bitter apple in your hands. Tell her NO biting and give her a toy to chew instead and ignore her. I hope this work for you. Good luck. |
;) Thank you for the information and I sure will do that and post an update on our progress. Take care. Babe Girl & MOmmy Quote:

I bought Dezi home at 8 weeks and she started biting immediately, she is 14 weeks and she bites even harder. I stop playing with her and ignore her and then she stops. :animal-pa |
:D Cool I will have to try that. Thank you for the information and I will post update on our progress. Quote:

With Reggie, when he would bite me too hard, I would holler "ouch" very loudly which startled him and made him stop and then I would give him a toy or just ignore him. If you decide to make him submissive, be careful you don't end up in a wrestling match with him. There are ways to teach them to be submissive. I found it on a website. I'll try to find it again and post it here for you. Good luck with your beautiful baby! :) |
:D Thank you for the information and I will try that with her. I seem to find that loud noises do startle her a little lol. I will post updates on our progress once successful. Take care. Quote:

Chloe went throught this stage but Daisy never really did! chloe got to wear she was chewing on our fingers so much that they would bleed! I finally had to just tell her No and put her in timeout! It worked and she hasnt done it since! |
