Love those videos! "Jack-o-lantern"??? How cute! He sure is getting around well with that cast! What good boys you have. Can't wait until next winter, I'll bet Jack will be out there with Eddie in the snow.

I love his bark!!! It is so cute!!!!! Jack is such a tough guy. I am so glad that he is already feeling soo good.

Jack is sooooo cute. I just want to cry when I see that cast on him though, but it seems like he doesn't even care..lol

Thanks for the comments everyone. Don't feel too bad about his cast. 1. He gets it off today. 2. He's been walking around with a dead leg for a long time. He's probably loving the mobility, even with the cast!

I loved the videos. It was so funny seeing Eddie stuck in the snow.

Jack is really getting around good for having a cast on. I love his bark.

In no timre, he'll be flying through the house chasing Eddie.

How old is he?

How old is he?
Age is another point of contention. Rescue lady said 5, based on what the previous owners said when they dumped him at animal control. But rescue lady's vet estimates 7 and my vet says as high as 9. They're basing their estimates on bad teeth and a degenerative eye issue. He seems fine now, but the vet says vision will decline, like looking through dark glasses. :(

Muffie has just lost some teeth last week to the Vet (LOL).

She also has cataracts on both eyes. They're real glassy.

I wonder if that has anything to do with how her eyes look in pictures???

First, Eddie we could NEVER forget you for a minute and I think you are so great to
share the love you get with Jack. I think since this little guy has had such a hard
life, this is just one more thing he has to overcome and wow how well he is handling
it. Jack, you wear your pampers well and you'd better get used to being in the movies.
Did I hear you say two teeth?? Jack that means you get the good stuff to eat.

Funny you should say that. StewiesMom saw one of the first pictures of Jack and thought he might have cataracts. She said his eyes just didn't seem as clear as Eddie's. I didn't notice, but the vets did. It's linticular sclerosis.

That is a "foreign" term to me. Is that the same as cataracts? Duhhh! lol

Hey Mike: Do Jack's eyes show up like this? They show up a bright yellow/green.

Jack's eyes do show up as green, but I don't think that's what StewiesMom was talking about when she said they appeared cloudy. She saw a picture when the eyes weren't reflecting the flash. A lot of healthy dogs' eyes reflect green with the flash.

Linticular sclerosis is not cataracts. I'd never heard of it either. It was described as a condition where the view darkens in some older dogs.

OOOOHHH I am so glad to see how well Jack is doing!!! It is amazing to see how resiliant these little guys can be!!!

You guys did the right thing keeping him and getting the surgery. I am so glad that he gets to be in a good home now. By the way I have been meaning to ask how is ole Sophia liking him?

Sophia was a little jealous in the beginning, but nothing like she was with Bruce. She was trying to protect Jack from Eddie. She actually does pretty well now.

Eddie, meanwhile, is still being an occasional punk. I just had to pull him off of Jack. He was really punishing him for stealing his toy.
