She has caught quite a few lizards, but only got a squirrel once. I was able to jump in and save the little fella's life but Cookie did manage to bite the end off its tail.

Haha, thanks. The 7 year old girl next door is always asking me if Cookie caught and killed anything since for a while she was killing 2-3 birds a week. I didn't have the heart to tell her one of her chickens was almost one of them when he managed to fly up on the fence and jump in my yard but I caught Cookie right when she was breaking for the chicken.

Max and Sasha love their naps. When Sasha can't find a pillow, she just uses Max's butt!

OMG she managed to get a squirrel lol, poor thing. The squirrels here fly off my roof, onto my deck post then onto a tree close to the deck, meanwhile Cody is going insane, leaping in the air, if that squirrel ever falls Cody will have it skinned before I could reach him lol. I love their hunting instincts lol.

Yep when we lived in Florida we noticed the lizards on our patio all had very short tails:D

I remember one time she came really close to catching a lizard so it dropped its tail. The tail kept wiggling wildly on its own for a few minutes and Cookie kept standing over it and barking at it. The lizard seem pretty traumatized and was just running in tight circles at full speed after dropping the tail.

The squirrel jumped out of a tree onto the ground and Cookie trapped it against the fence, bit into its stomach, and started trying to shake the hell out of it. I ran over and told her to drop it and it was just enough to allow it to escape. But then she chomped down on its tail as it got away. It was funny because Cookie kept returning to the scene of the crime all day to see if that squirrel would come back. I don't think I have ever heard a squirrel scream bloody murder the way it did when Cookie had it in her mouth.

Grossest thing was when I saw her bite the head off a dove she caught. Then Cookie started parading around the yard with her decapitated dove in her mouth. There is nothing she loves more than hunting the doves, squirrels, lizards, cats, and rabbits that come in the yard. I have seen her try to go after possums too, in that case I'll lock her up inside and start chasing the possums away myself since they could really hurt her.

Mine never catch them, it is all about the hunt. The lizards leap up onto the screens around the pool and scamper toward the top panels, the dogs stand under them and bark like crazy, then they run over to us for praise about how brave and clever they are!

I'm hysterical over the squirrel because I see my Cody shaking it to death lol, heaven help any squirrel if ever caught by him lol. The dove is a bit gross lol, I wouldn't want to remove a headless bird from his mouth.


My now passed girl Matese caught her first mouse, she had this dazed look on her face, I called her name, she turned around, all I saw was two lil feet and a tail hanging from the side of her mouth, I screamed drop it, thankfully she did. The dazed look was she couldn't believe after years of hunting she actually caught a critter lol.

I’d be careful with squirrels, gophers and other toothy critters they can and will fight back and could harm tiny fur baby’s.
