Not sure if 2 females is the best option ? Hello,i have a 7 year old female:aimeeyork yorkie Bella, and a 5 months ago we brought home a new female:aimeeyork yorkie Lunna everything seems fine but, many people have mention to me that the older the puppy get the harder will be to have 2 females together is this truth:confused: |
I had a pack of 3 females all 3 years apart, now all passed. My oldest was 6 years old, middle fur child was 3 yo when I got my last puppy. They were like the rat pack, bonded and loved each other. My older girls were the sweetest most gentle girls, there was never a growl, snarl between them. I lined up their food bowls side by side, they ate from their own bowl and never tried to steal out of another's bowls. That is my experience with all females. I would say it depends on the dogs personalities. |
If they know you're in charge I wouldn't expect there to be issues. Monroe & Rylee are sisters/litter-mates but I brought Rylee home when they were both 11 months old. I haven't had any issues with them. They eat side-by-side, sleep together and play a lot but never too rough. I wouldn't worry about it. Just watch to see if either seems to be acting dominate and then correct that behavior if it comes up. |

So i don't see having all female dogs in the house would be a problem at all I have done it for many years as we never owned male dogs. |
I currently have a 6yr old, 1 yr old, and a 7 month old female and usually don't have any problems. When they do get into a little hassle, it's usually the middle one picking on the oldest when she doesn't want to be bothered. I tell them to stop and they all go their separate ways or jump on the couch together and lie down. Never anything serious. |
I have a 13 year old and a 1.5 year old and only problem between them was just recently when the baby had symptoms of a false pregnancy, which im hoping will be a unique situation , as I'm planning to have her spayed as soon as we have the money savedbc we never planned in breeding her anyway but is absolutely lose my mind if anything happened to either of my babies and it's just healthier for her that way, but other than that, they are like sisters!! |
