This is Morris- he's 15 months today. His mother is a Yorkie and his dad a Maltese.

He's the first dog of my adult life, and I'm 55.. His sister is a 20 year old kitty, and..

What was I thinking??!! :eek:;):p:D

I would love feedback- he's currently almost 5 lbs and has silky hair on his head and cotton hair every where else- I'm curious as to whether he is more Maltese or Yorkie in appearance.

He's a wild, sweet boy and has taken a firm hold on the reins of my life!

Thanks for meeting him and thanks (in advance) for all the wonderful help in raising him.

Welcome to YT, Morris is just adorable, he looks like a Parti yorkie. Sorry no help on his coat.

Thanks for the compliment. After you said he looked like a Parti in my intro post on the 10th, I googled Yorki Parti and did see a bunch of similarities.

I suppose I'm like all newbie moms in that I want to know exactly what the future holds for my child. Que Sera, Sera. :)

I am loving Mr. Morris's photos! He is very photogenic! I have just started getting Minnie Pearl accustomed to being combed, and brushed and having her eye boogies cleaned every day. She is pretty good about it now, but definitely not her favorite activity! LoL. When did you first take Morris for a groom? Minnie is 19 weeks and I'm thinking it will soon be time?

I've never taken him- I think his breeder trimmed around his eyes right before I picked him up 3 weeks ago, but afaik, he's still an innocent. ha

I've given him a bath, though and wipe down his face and body with a cloth after he plays in dirt, mud, etc. I try to make a peek a boo game of it and it helps that he enjoys the taste of the wipes.

On another note- he gained a whole pound in 3 weeks and the vet just gave him a pretty dang glowing health report.

OTOH, if I don't get more than 5 hours of sleep soon, I may need my own doctor. I knew in my head the enormity of this venture, but that did not provide the complete picture. It's good that I have age and love in my corner...

Morris says thanks for the compliment and wonders if you'd remove the evil spoon from his couch. :D

Thank you. I suppose I'm being silly because I'm behaving exactly how I used to make fun of my friends for! I really need to get out and speak with fellow adult humans, while I can still form conversation that doesn't include, "He's a good boy; he's the best boy!" haha

Ain't that the truth.....if you would of told me years ago that I would of been wiping a dog's butt with baby wipes or going shopping for clothing or any of that stuff, I would laughed at you but here I am doing all of those things I used to make fun of other dog owners.

Yep. I knew I'd identify myself as "mom," as I have a cat (Boo, aged 20), but having never had a dog, I really didn't understand just how far this child-parent relationship could be taken with an animal!

Regarding clothing.. I can already feel my resolve slipping. :)
