Athena 4 Attachment(s) I would like to introduce to everyone our new little addition..... It's Athena! So far Hercules is really liking her - I think he sees her as a toy. He won't leave her alone! They tend to play fight a lot, but I don't hear any crying, so it seems like they are ok. And she can definitely hold her own with him! She plays rough right back like it's nothing. Here are some pics, I just had to show you all!!! :aimeeyork :aimeeyork |
Awww, Brandi, Athena (LOVE the name) is gorgeous! I bet Hercules will love having a sister! I love the pictures, the last one he looks like he's going "WHAT is she doing here??" Too cute!! |
Thanks!! We're very excited, but also a bit tired. I forgot how much work a new one is, even though Hercules is only 6 1/2 months! He was definitely unsure about her at first, but is really loving her. He won't really leave her alone very often. But when he does, she will then go charge him. It's really funny! |
Oh, that last pic is priceless!!! Would give anything to know what must be going through Hercule's little head!! ;) They are both just adorable!! What fun! |
I know about those sleepless nights, it's been so long since I had a puppy I had forgotten - one of the perks of having gotten an older dog :D But our late nights will pay off, I'm sure! I'm really so excited for you!! |
how much does she weigh??? and how old is she???? she looks MUCH bigger than hercules in one of teh pics |
We've been waking up at least two times during the night to take her out. Hercules wouldn't go in the middle of the night when we took him out, so we didn't wake up like we are now. So this is a big change for us. But it's a good one! She's 9 weeks and weighs 2.7 pounds. Which is more than Hercules weighed, at 10 weeks he was 2 pounds. I think it was just the angle of the camera that made her look so much bigger. Some of my co-workers said the same thing. Hercules is now trying to mount her, to hump her. He's already fixed, so I'm not worried about her ever getting pregnant. And we are going to fix her. So far, when he looks like he's trying to mount her, I break them apart. Is that the right thing to do? What do you all think? I'm so unsure about a lot of things. Also, when they play, as long as I don't hear a cry they should be ok, right? They growl sometimes and roll all around, but I've only heard one or two cries and that's when I separate them. Is that right?? |
As to the playing - my two are doing that right now - rolling around and carrying on with their growls. Their tails are still wagging. I separate them when I feel the play is getting too rough for Tia or when I'm done listening to them growl. They separate themselves if one of them yelps :) That's just my approach, and I could very well be doing things wrong though! |
She is adorable.. i can't wait to get Zoey a little brother or sister. |
Athena is so adorable..reminds me of my Cherie when she's a puppy...bet Hercules is happy to have a new playmate. |
Thanks! :D Yes, Hercules is so excited and happy.... he's chasing her right now! :aimeeyork |
Yeah Yeah on your new addition!! Athena looks like a little cuddly teddy bear and is so very sweet. I bet she and Hercules will be inseperable and best friends.. Double Yorkie love, how great is that?? :D |
It's definitely great, and a lot of fun!! I'm now going back through all the bookmarks I've made with everyone's recommendations about clothes, bows, etc. Now I can get girly things!!! |
