will my little guy change to the Steel Blue Color My Wife is driving me Nuts with questions i dont have the answers to.....lol....i got us a now 4 month old Male Yorkie who is the World to us.....as far as his Coat goes its getting rather long as the days go by....and he is starting to change colors in the face area.....however his Body is still Black......im not familiar with the changes Yorkies go thru....all i can really tell you is that his mom is Blue and Gold and his dad is Black and Tan.....both parents have long silky floor length coats but one just didn't change colors....i could care less about any of that lol but my wife is hoping for the Steel Blue coloring.....i don't really know what to tell her except just wait and see lol.....if anyone here has better knowledge on the subject your feedback would be greatly Appreciated.......I Have Pics of Our Little Man in our Picture Album on our Profile if you Would like to See him......Thanks Yorkie Talk!!! |
You are right, just wait and see! Even if both the dam and sire were steel blue, the pup could still pop up with darker or lighter colors due to his lineage generations back. At 4 months there really is no way to know. Yorkies will continue to change colors until about 3 years old or so but at about one year you will have a better idea. Right now it should look almost like he is balding--light colored roots. |

My little boy Billy is 17 weeks old and I am hoping he will be steel blue and blonde like his mother. At the moment he looks bauld on his head and has light roots on his body so hopefully he will be like her . But he will be beautiful what ever his colour is .:animal36 |

Is there any way to tell what color an adult Yorkie will be? I prefer that (s)he stay black. Can I avoid buying a Yorkie that will turn blonde as an adult? |
