You can see the top of the leash in the pix. Cute shot but not a good idea. Anyway, welcome and your little one is adorable. |
Thanks guys... she loves to be outside walking :) Yeah.,.. It's not a jumping shot... we held her up from the leash for a quick pic. You guys mentioned that it's not a good idea to hold her that way.... We don't do it a lot though sometimes when we're walking and there's a puddle of water or something I would gently raise her from the leash to avoid the water.... Is it really that dangerous to raise our dogs that way??? I'll definitely be more conscious about it. thanks again, Marcelo |
Actually, a harness is better for walking and is lots easier to "lift" them if necessary. Yorkies (morkies) have very sensitive tracheas that can be harmed if pressure is put on the neck. Since they have a tendency to pull sometimes they choke themselves. Look into getting a cute harness. There are all kinds available. |
she is a doll but OMG don't dangle her from a leash like that, so bad for her neck. there are zillions of great harnesses you can get, if you walk in the city you should get some. I can let you know where to get some really cute fabric ones cheap like around $15.00 in you are interested. Also if you like socializing with your pup in the city there is a great pup scout troop there. they get together for a lot for fun events, that gal that runs it has a blond morkie named Tasha. Lola and I belong because I am from NY and get back often |
I have several of these that I love, i even sent the gal some fabric that I liked, they are reversible and she puts little charms on them,https://www.etsy.com/listing/1759877..._home_active_4 |
Immediately noticed the collar on this baby, then noticed the shadow showing the precious pup being "hung by the collar around the neck"..... This pic reminded me of my neighbor, who was walking to her car parked in front of her house, with her little "Shorkie" on a leash....was attacked by a large chow from across the street.....owner immediately jerked the smaller dog up into the air to keep the chow from killing the smaller dog.....several of us heard her terrified screams and ran to her rescue....while she saved her baby from the vicious chow attack, she broke her pups neck with such a maneuver....please dont ever use a collar around the neck of a small breed dog, especially a Yorkie. This little dog of hers only weighed 10 lbs so she thought the dog would be safe, swinging suspended in the air by her neck from a leash/collar.....??????????????????.........omg......... ..... |
1 Attachment(s) Hi everyone... First I just want to clarify that I would NEVER!!! hang my Lolita from a neck harness.... I've seen too many pics of inhumane people hanging their pets by the neck and enjoying it... personally, I think they should be hung themselves so they know what it feels like... But on a happier note... :) I'm very glad to see all the concerned messages from you guys.... In the pic in question.. Lolita is being hung from this type of harness (see attached pic). And even with this type of harness I don't like to raise her much... as my baby is a bit on the heavy side (8-9lbs). I do plan on buying her a ticker harness like the one DBlain mentioned above. thanks again everyone for your thoughts... We're happy to have join this group.. :) |
