Our daily entertainment - jogging with my 2 dearest Lela & Gigi 4 Attachment(s) Our daily entertainment is doing jogging along the riverside of the Seine in Paris from the Tower Eiffel until the church Notre Dame and it takes about 1 hour. Yesterday, we met another yorkie whose young mother asked if it hurted the yorkies for jogging like that while we were jogging in the middle of journey and I answered that we have done this more than one year and this is good for our health. The photos were taken by a French man who rides his bike and relaxes at the riverside of Seine near the Museum of Louvre. He was very kind to send me back the photos thro' email after I had asked him this favour. |
4 Attachment(s) I have to keep my eyes on both of them all time during the journey. The last photo was taken during the shopping in the Big Departement Store Lafayette. |
Oh wow, I love your pictures and how fun to go running in Paris. :) |
If it isnt too hot, if they are not making the entire run on hard concrete, and if you take small resting walks along the way, then great! They are accustomed to the run distance, so I think if the other factors I mentioned above are not extreme, it would be OK....do THEY look like they are tolerating the run? I used to work in the Medical Center here in Houston, and I would see these great "health nuts", running along the side walks in the area....and on several occasions, I actually stopped and asked them if they had recently looked back at the little dog these health nuts were actually dragging along behind them, almost dead from heat stroke and running non stop on hot sidewalks.....took two of these extreme runners that were actually dragging an exhausted, over heated pup along behind them, back to their condo....one we rushed to a vet in the area with heat stroke....course it gets hot and it is very humid here in Houston....that is a major factor to consider.... Granted, these little dogs are a tough lot, but when you have a human that is accustomed to running in 90-100 degree summer heat, and they can endure 15+ miles, and they have a little yorkie with 4 inch legs, relentlessly pounding the hot pavement, trying to keep up in that kind of heat for an extended distance, even under tree shade, it can easily overdo the pup and actually kill it! But how wonderful to be jogging along the Seine in Paris!!! And then SHOPPING!!! C'est tres bien! |

When I want to exercise outside, I usually leave the pup at home but for just brisk walking, she goes with me. Although with Duchess I am sure she can run coast to coast.......she has so much energy. Even still I am always checking on her to make sure she isn't overheating. |
4 Attachment(s) Thanks for nice reply of Lisa and the kindest advises of Yorkiemom1 & yavenay. I have just received thro' email another shot of pictures which were taken 4 days ago. Nice to share with you all. |
Your little ones are so adorable. I have to admit, when I see Duchess running full speed I get so excited for her. You can see the joy in her face at being able to run free whenever I take her to the dog park. By the way, the last time I went to Paris, there was so many yorkies in full coat in the summer. Is that the norm in Paris? I only so a few with puppy cuts |
Imagine running along the Eiffel to Nortre Dame every day:D I am a runner and try to run daily. Cali has been running with me for about 5 years. She is always good for 4-5 miles if the weather And road conditions are good, but I have a joggers stroller and I take that along if we are going greater distances or it is too warm out. She looks forward to her run/ride daily and was a real pest when I was recovering from hip surgery and did not run every day! Fortunately it was a short and sweet recovery and we were back at it again. Out biggest problem is other, usually big, dogs that want to chase us - found out a couple times we could really be fast:D Your pictures and pups are lovely!! |
Thank you for sharing your photos with us. Your pups are adorable. |
your pups are cute, and I love Paris and I am sorry if you think me impolite but based on my past experience I would be remiss if I did not say you taking a chance with them if they are off leash like that in public especially since you have two to keep an eye on. My first yorkie was killed right in front of my house while he was off leash, a husky came after him and since he was not on a leash I could not pull him back. |
Really nice pictures! My yorkie hates to exercise!! Whenever I walk him out, he would just sit and not stand at all. I wish to have him trained so I can jog with him outside! [URL=http://citydogs.com.au> dog wash adelaide [/URL] |
Wonderful photos! Nothing like seeing cute Yorkies running full tilt. :) How fun to run in Paris with all of the beautiful scenery. |
