dog obsessed with litter box How do I keep my Yorkie,Charlie out of the cat liiter box?? He steals the poo and runs in the closet to eat it !!::( |
following - I have issues with this problem as well. Rather nasty! |
That's a tough one! I've heard that cat poop is especially irresistible to poop eating dogs... Something about the high protein content in the cat food that doesn't all get fully get absorbed by the cat when eaten and therefore still passes into the poop... Making it tasty. I'm not sure if maybe changing the cats diet may be the only solution? Thar would just be a guess as I haven't first hand dealt with this issue. Good luck! |
I had the same problem. You can either put the litter box up high or get a lij with a opening for it. You can buy a little box with a lid at walmarts. In my case I got the litter box with the lid and then I turned the side with the opening towards the corner of the walls.. I left just enough room for the cat to get to the opening. That solved the problem for me. I didn't really have a place up high to put the litter box. Dutch isn't really agile so she has no clue on how to get to the opening. The litter box is too heavy for her to push so she just kinda quit trying to figure out how to get to it. |
Wow....I have a cat and Remy has never gotten into her litter box. Honestly, I don't even think he can get in her litter box. She's a big 15lb cat and has a big dome like litter box. The only suggestion I can think of, is to get one of those automatic scoopfree litter boxes that once the cat leaves the litter box it rakes the waste into a closed container. Best of luck! |
Thanks all!!:animal36 |
