New member with a new baby Hi I am a new member but not new to Yorkies however it has been years since I had one. He was a cute fine boned 3 lb boy named Dexter and I have a photo of him below. I have had Chihuahuas for the last 9 yrs and lost my heart Chihuahua boy a little over 3 weeks ago. Everyone had told me that I needed to feel the void with another life so I had always wanted a little female Yorkie and to name her "Trinket". I decided to feel that void so the night before last we brought home this little girl. I was looking for smaller lines as I have a 2 1/2 lb Chihuahua and a 3 3/4 lb Chi. I know that for the most part Yorkies are larger boned and framed than Chihuahuas or that has been my experience while searching for a baby. My little Dexter was small boned and small framed like my 3 lb Chi though. Not sure how she will turn out but her mom is 3 lb and her dad is 2.12 lbs and her grandsire on dads side was 2 1/2 lbs. The breeder said that this is the first time she has bred the female but she comes from the smaller lines also. However these seem to be a little stockier lines not the smaller boned like my past boy. She is 9 1/2 weeks and weighs 1 lb 3 oz. However she was 15 oz at 8 weeks and that is quite a jump. She is loving and sweet as well as a little hellion at times. It has been a long time since I had a young baby in the house. Here is my little girl "Trinket" http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a46...ps53f31a4f.jpg With my larger long coat Chihuahua http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a46...psf4f703bf.jpg with her new daddy http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a46...psf851e8c6.jpg With my smallest smooth coat Chihuahua http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a46...ps559c9a53.jpg A silly photo with that tongue out...just kills me... http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a46...pse0f90b18.jpg Her sire in full coat http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a46...ps76f5d44d.jpg and my past boy Dexter http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a46...psf960f914.jpg Sorry to bombard with so many photos but I am a bit excited :-) If there is a limit to how many photos per post please forgive me and I will be glad to remove some ;-) |
