Today, March 27th, is my pet monkey Cookie's first birthday! I got her on July 3rd from Deb Sillers (Amazing Yorkies), and Cook has been everything I could ever want in a yorkie. Nice and healthy. Extremely loving, as she loves to give tons of yorkie kisses. Athletic and fast, so she's so much fun to run around with outside. Mischievous in that she likes to fight me for her toys when I play with them or run like crazy if I give her the zoomie look. Back before she was big enough to jump up and down from the couch she used to sit on the edge and drop her toys so that she could watch me have to pick them up off the floor and hand them back.

Cookie Dough loves to wrestle around, and she is my lap dog when it's time to wind down. She enjoys doing her own thing but will still come to check in too. Cook dearly loves outside time, where she's exploring the back yard, digging holes, chasing squirrels, or laying on her belly to sneak up on birds and then running after them. And walks at the park get her even more excited than green bean snacks.

Well d'oh. The 27th is the day she gets her comfortis every month, which she absolutely loves. So I gave her the comfortis, then I gave her a pretty good amount of green beans for a snack; a lot more than I usually do, since it's her birthday after all. I guess that wasn't a good idea to give so much food after the comfortis, as she just puked the green beans up whole! :eek:

Then when I smelled her puked up green beans I wondered why they smelled like comfortis. Ah what a brain fart, giving so much food right after her medicine. She has never puked the comfortis before, so I think it was just the overfeeding right after. But now I gotta call my vet tomorrow to make sure she should get another dose of it for the month (his office is closed on Thursdays).

That's a bummer. How about some birthday cake to make up for it?

BTW what kind of green beans do you feed? Cooked, raw, frozen?? I have given my girls frozen in the past, and they love them, but I read online that eating cold things such as ice & frozen treats can cause spasms in the stomach that lead to life threatening bloat in doggies. Now I thaw them.

Hope she is feeling better and the rest of her bday is perfect.

They're frozen, but I heat them in the microwave to cook them and then run them under cold water so they won't be hot inside. I read somewhere the nutrients can't be absorbed raw, so that they should be cooked.

I really think I just gave her way too much in a short time period.

I think my frozen ones are pre-cooked, but I do thaw them now. Of course they like them even better when leftover from my dinner with a little butter on them, haha.

Me too, hope she is feeling better.

Teddy doesn't do well with cold food. When he has been on a bland diet, if I feed him refrigerated food, he will continue to have tummy problems. I have to warm up the chicken and rice.

She has been great. I just gave her way too many green beans in a period of about 5 minutes, and she'll completely scarf anything down presented as a snack.
